I actually just bought a pair of wrecked Austin Healey Mk1 Sprites last night before the fall in USD and I was almost going to delay it until now to see if I could save some more. Guess planning a siesta today paid off.

Only wish I'd also paid for the shipping container last night too... that'll be a bit.

if its the ones that dont have the headlights on the hood then they are cool little cars, hopefully you can rebuild them.

Those are interesting little cars, they have a pretty large fan base. Are you going original with the resto?

Its actually my father's thing, the original parts are a bit... terrible and we have the molds to make the front and rear clamshells so its likely the sheet metal will be replaced with GRP or CF, the motors will most likely be 1275 cooper S engines out of some later cars, or if easy enough a more modern motor, but the engineering involved will likely be too expensive to be viable.

They're surprisingly quick for a 50 year old car, and with GRP/CF panels, weight can be brought from the standard 650kg or so down considerably by replacing the sheet metal, and with 100hp or so from a tuned 1275, it should be pretty decent. Neither I nor my father fit in them, but if you're under 5' 3, and have legs the thickness of a broom stick, they're a very entertaining little sports car.

You don't like the bugeyes? Everyone likes the bugeyes!

No bugeyes means it's essentially a Spridget (MG Midget + AH Sprite).

As I mentioned, I used to collect (& restore) Jags (mostly e-types).

Never really saw the point of an MG or Austin Healey; if you're going to put up with all the problems you may as well have some perfomance in between the repairs!

Outside watches, antique boxes/tea caddies, by accident knives of a military nature (picked up a Randall when I was in Iraq and had an APO, outside of this I would have had to wait up to 5 years for my order to be filled. This just amazes me that you would have to wait 5 years for a knife to be made due to the backlog of orders)

Anything I have spent on my interests pales into insignificance compared to what I spend on my family, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh yeah, knives; I have about 300 pocket knives, some of them pretty rare (read: pricey!).

For me - (1) Women (petite blonds with at least a C cup and a nice booty!) (2) Cars (currently driving a 2008 Lexus that'll be traded in for an Audi A5 or Jag XK) (3) High End Computers (I really enjoy building high end gaming PCs with water cooling setups....my latest build cost over $5000).

PS: I forgot that I was on a gun buying kick 5 months ago. I definitely enjoy going to the firing range. I own a Beretta 9mm PX4, Beretta CX4 Storm carbine, and a Colt M4.

My Cadillac when I had it. Watches, Rolex primarily but I like Omega as well.
Clothes. I love Brooks Brothers clothing, suits, and expensive denim too.
Firearms. I had a very nice collection before the economy ruined me with unemployment here. I had a Wilson CQB 1911, multiple custom 1911's. Glocks galore, AR-15's, HK's, and a few others. It gets expensive.

My wife loves shoes and purses. I don't get it, but she does, and it's not cheap. When things go bad you cant sell purses and shoes. Maybe she is onto something here. All of my things, Rolex watches, and firearms are pretty much liquid money any day of the week. Hmmmmmmmmmm
