Well you've heard of the rare Submariner 6538 'big crowns' ...
Here's an ultra-rare Submariner 5513 'small crown' ...... also known as my parts-bin-bargain-basement-beater

Here's mine.
Been wearing this watch almost daily for the past 34 years. Sent it to Rolex service center a few years ago and this is what I got back. They kept all the old parts. Wish they had not, but didn't know it was to become a collectible. Photo was taken today. I do love this watch!

I have been stalking a few late 60s 5513's. can someone give me a reasonable price range considering the following - non-gilt gilt dial, nice faded fat font bezel (that blue/grey color), all original with box and papers. Seems like they run between 4k and 9k and I cannot figure out what attributes make one at the higher or lower end of that range and do not want to overpay. would really appreciate some insight from the experts here.

Every one of them here are beautiful! I hope to have another sub again someday. I could kick myself for letting go of the one sub that I did own, But it was nesassary to pay for my Daughters education. I still have my old 6581 ole workhorse. I guess that I should be thankfull for that. Now, if I could only find an affordible 19mm bracelet for it, I'll be all set! Nice Subs everyone.
