I really don't buy this. In all seriousness isn't it fair to say the bakelite inserts aren't in the original colours they were from the factory? I mean does anyone remember what colour they were? I'd imagine they were once quite vibrant too. I'm inclined to believe what passes for pepsi ceramic was just the only way to make blue and red from one piece of ceramic. Not that this isn't an admirable feat, just not as good looking as the aluminium pepsi due to less colour restrictions. All this 'inspired by the original 6542' just sounds like rubbish to me. The 116719 is worlds apart.

Here's my prediction for the GMT II: I think a two-tone Rootbeer is coming soon, maybe this year. Rolex will keep the BLNR around for a few more years, as it's selling well. They'll then discontinue it and the WG BLRO simultaneously and introduce a SS Coke. They'll keep that around for a while, perhaps as much as a decade, and then discontinue it and introduce a SS Pepsi, perhaps with a more vivid bezel. By then, the WG BLRO would be far enough in the past as to not totally upset owners and we will finally get the GMT II Rolex should have released from the start.

I could see this happening

The fact of the matter is this. Rolex still has the rootbeer and coke card to play as well as the infamous BLUEBERRY GMT card before we see a SS pepsi.

These watches are well past their prime. I think the bezel colors were too pastel. I sold mine fairly quickly. Not a keeper.
