Fake or not? Oyster Precision

Hi, how are you? I have the chance to buy an Oyster Precision for $1500 here, it haves a Re-dial.

The guy says he gives it to me in a rolex jewelry to certify its authenticity. Here is one pic of it, later when he pass me more pics I'm gonna upload them.

Thank you very much!

Hard to tell for sure with that pic, however it looks real enough.

Since the dial has been refinished can’t judge from one picture. The crown looks a bit bigger than a 34mm usually has.
You should meet him at the Rolex jeweler he promised to use - then pay them to open it and verify everything.

Is that a red seconds hand? Don’t think that’s correct for an OP...

He told me the restored the watch and changed the second hand to a red one, and so the "precision" text.

Do you mean US$1500.00 ?

A bit expensive if not all original.

I would have to agree. For a non-original oyster precision, $1500 is a bit steep.

What concerns me is if it turns out not to be a Franken rolex but just a fake Rolex.

Don't bother buying it, frankenwatches aren't worth having

you have a refinished dial, incorrect hands, questionable bracelets, correct movement, and (most likely) correct case). it's worth a little less than what you negotiated.

Here in Arg, finding a Rolex for 800 bucks It's really rare, for that price you can get an Omega original of 1950... or less.

Also, why questionable bracelets?

Also, I think I can buy it and then replace the dial for an original Oyster Precision, I think it worth it.

If it’s a project-watch, go for it!

I think spending a few bucks to right a wrong is a good thing.

Don’t expect to “make money“ just try not to “lose your shirt” in the process.

Expect to spend at least a couple of grand on correct dial, hands and bracelet...

Pls post before and after pictures

So you’re knowingly buying a fake?

There is a huge gap between buying a replica and buying a watch that has the machinery, the bracelet, even the real dial but restored, at a ridiculous price.
Greetings!

$800 for that watch seems okay.

As others have said, dial seems refinished (worth checking the back of it when you receive it - it should be a Singer / Brevet). Check the seconds hands closely - they could have painted it red to match the red "precision" text. The bracelet is unclear - the original model came on a rivet or an oyster.
