Incoming. Not Rolex but with Rolex :)
Just hit a milestone bday this week and received the SMP Chronograph blue dial. The blue dial on this thing is beautiful. The ceramic bezel matches the ceramic dial perfectly of coarse. Omega really upped their game on the new SMPs and I honestly prefer them over the Planet Oceans. It's a big watch but I think I can pull it off. With the price of the Daytona skyrocketing its nice to have a beater. Im amazed at the quality and attention to detail. It also seems like it's a notch up from the Daytona but it is not a Daytona by any means. Its about 1/5th the cost vs a gray market Daytona but at least equal in quality IMHO. The 9900 is a pretty sweet movement overall. It's a big watch but comfortable.

Very nice!
I agree that Omega has upped their game. The casework on my Ploprof is far and away the best on any watch I own (Rolex Red SD, Rolex Datejust Oyster Quartz-bracelet is a beauty to behold, Two Panerai, Seiko Prospex). They definitely set their sites on Rolex IMO. |

I have the Planet Ocean 600 and very much like it. I was thinking of the Seamaster 300 if I wanted a watch that was a bit thinner.

wow, im digging the blue hue on this watch!! Is it from your lighting and angle, or is the blue actually a deep, silky dark navy blue... looks different from the usual blue SMP???

Congrats. I agree with you, the finish on these is superb, and I actually think the bracelet on this big guy is more comfortable than on the standard smp. Funny, I call mine my “beater” as well, but it just feels so solid.

Very nice! I want to see one of those in person at the AD. I've always loved the Chronograph versions of the 300M Professional Diver.
It's great to see the waves back! Happy Birthday and congratulations!!!! Enjoy in good health. |

Very sporty looking and great lume shot! The 44mm 600M case is a beast!
Does anyone know why Omega goes with the green Luminova on the bezel pearl & minute hand vs blue on all the others?

Whoa, that's quite the leap, can't see that happening anytime soon. Yes, the availability is a lot of BS and a pain to deal with, but the allure of a Rolex is very strong for the other 98% of the watch buying public.

Congrats. I love the two hand chrono register. I agree with the others who say Omega is taking it to the next level.
