1312 or 560?

Looking to pull the trigger on my first Panerai, but having some trouble deciding which to go with as my first

Both the 1312 and 560 stand out for me but leaning towards the 560 as it seems like the more traditional Panerai.

Any thoughts?

Oh and some nice wrist shots would help too!

1312 has my vote. Both are very classic, can’t go wrong.

Both are great “entry level” watches into the brand. I prefer manual instead of automatic nowadays.

For the clean look, go for the 560 8 days, if you need the date and sub dial, go for the 1312 3 days. Good luck

can’t go wrong either way.

manual wind vs auto
clean dial vs date/seconds
which one sings to you more

my first was the 328....i liked the auto and ‘needed’ a date. that was 8 1/2 years ago.

good luck with your quest

Thank you to everyone who chimed in! However, my first Panerai is going to have to take a back seat for the time being....my Rolex AD just texted me tonight with what I’ve been waiting on for 11 months now

I prefer the 560. Has the more 'classic' Panerai look to me and I enjoy the manually wound movement. Part of the fun of Panerai!

now that I'm a little more familiar with the brand owning both the 359 and 692; 359 as my first PAM; I'd get the 560 since I understand a little more of the history behind the dials. Just my .02
