Fast forward to the present, and I find myself in possession of the latest iteration, the Rolex 126610LV. Beyond the green bezel, it houses the Caliber 3235 movement with a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day and 70 hours of power reserve. And I love that the redesigned case reflects the timeless Submariner lines.

Here’s to the next chapter in the legacy of this legendary Sub! Wrist shots soon.

Lovely watch. I had the original but think this is worthy successor.

Dan
Agreed wholeheartedly.

I had the 116610LV - the much loved Hulk - back in 2012 for a few years. Loved it, but I traded it up for another watch in my very active (watch-brand-discovery) period.

It’s been about 8 years that I haven’t had a Sub, so I’m excited to add this one. I think it’s a keeper.

A couple of quick pics and some first impressions.

I used to own an 116610LV (the Hulk, in case you needed to look that up) in 2012. I think I had it for at least a couple of years before ultimately selling it for something else at the time. It was a great watch but wasn’t a keeper for me. I felt the green dial and bezel made the overall color (and therefore, the watch) feel “washed out” in most lighting. Clearly, the green bezel in direct lighting was a lot of fun.

Here’s a wrist shot of the 126610LV:

As soon as I took the watch out of the box, the first thing that hit me was heft. This new Sub is noticeably heftier than its predecessor. The bracelet is more significant and case immediately appears larger. And it feels great on the wrist - especially with the Glidelock! I missed having that level of bracelet-size-control.

The dial is gorgeous. And the contrast between the dial and the bezel is perfect. The markers almost feel like little cushions sitting on the dial. I can’t quite explain it, but I don’t get the same effect from the 126710BLRO.

Many have pointed out the return to more harmonious proportions. I fully concur. The watch proportions work great. I’m not going to say they’re better than the previous because I really enjoyed that version as well.

You can clearly see the difference in size compared to the 126710BLRO:

It makes me wonder if Rolex might do the same with their GMT line. The recent release of the GRNR leads me to believe we might still have a few years with this iteration. But who knows.

Back to the 12LV. The combination of the black dial with this bright-ish green bezel is a winner in my book. Plus the fantastic proportions and great fit. This one’s a keeper.

I love the LV, when I first tried it on in Vegas I quickly dismissed it but when I tried it on again overseas I fell in love.

Green is my favorite color and the way the green changes in different lighting conditions is amazing. It just seems redundant to have a black sub and a green sub, but maybe I can convince myself it's OK in a couple of years ;)

Same here. I have a very good condition 16610LV from 2008 and never wanted the 41mm green sub until this new color came out
