Icon2 **Your Seiko and Japanese Beer**

As a chaser for our sleepy Seiko and Japanese Whisky thread, I thought I'd start one for Seiko watches and Japanese beer.

Here's an odd one to get us going - Osihi Supa Matcha Wheat Ale. It gets no prizes for appearance (it looks like muddy water) but tastes fine, and goes great with sushi, yakitori or fried food. At 5.7% ABV it's strong enough that you won't mind the powdered green-tea sludge at the bottom of your third glass.

So as not to seem pretentious, I am pairing it with my SKX009J1, rather than a vintage Grand Seiko.

I might also mention that I bought seven bottles of this because it was marked down from about US$5.50 to $1.40 per bottle.

I'll give this one a conservative 6.5/10.

I love the art on the bottle. Great picture. Great watch too.

Thanks for the previous comments, guys. Today I am indulging in a can or two of Suntory's The Premium Malt's. I found a couple of special-edition Year of the Tiger six-packs marked down to half price in a local grocery store (about US$5), and they seem to be the same brew as the regular cans (6%, 350ml, water/malt/hops only).

This is one of Japan's better mass-produced "macro" beers, and as such gets an 8.5/10 from me.

Drinking ice cold in a frosted glass with my JDM Grand Seiko SBGT235.

Great photo! I love the label art, and of course the SKX is a beauty. I like that muddy look of wheat beers.

Cheers!

Looks good! I had a few nice ones in recent weeks but didn't get around to photographing. Now I'm having a dry November ahead of the holiday season!
