Cartier - Santos de Cartier Large

Cannot get enough of this beauty.
Bought it as a dress watch with the SS band, the tan that came with it, and two alligator bands, one in blue and one in black.
It’s evolved to a casual wear for me specially with the blue alligator band.
Love the history of being the first wristwatch.
Love the lines.
But mostly, why can’t every watch make changing a band or link so easy. Spring loaded pop out screws and quick in and out bracelet change by depressing bar.

Bought a butterfly clasp for mine. Balances things out nicely. Bought a spare clasp as well in anticipation of picking up another strap.

It’s a really nice watch for the price. I have the blue dial, just haven’t worn it much. Too many others getting in the way.

I’ve been really enjoying my new Santos as well. Incredibly comfortable watch and a nice change of pace from my round watches. I went with the blue dial.

I picked up the blue dial last month and I’m absolutely loving it.

The skeleton Santos also caught my attention today when I went into the Cartier AD. Very tempted to add it to my collection, but it’s price tag is a bit step for a SS watch.

Just to add that it is less than 9mm thickness for the large men size is amazingly comfortable on the wrist. I bought a SS model for my father and he LOVE it. Originally I was looking for 18K bracelet version but when he put it on he much prefer the lightweight and the sporty feel to the SS.

I think if I was delve in the wold of Cartier, this would be it. Not only the history of the watch but for the reasons you stated: easy to switch bands, classy but casual, and really good lines. How does that polished bezel hold up to daily wear?

My dad is really rough with his watches.. his ExII42mm is quite badly dinged but he have been using the Santos for almost 3 weeks, hardly notice any major scratches.. I guess the Low profile (less than 9mm) really dodged those nasty hits.

Some bezel scratches but quite faint. You really have to look for them.
As mentioned, low profile saves you in this reference.

Just FYI, Cartier is now offering a eight year warranty. If your timepiece is still under warranty, go to their website and register for “Cartier Care”. Afterwards, you’ll get confirm of your new expiration date. Glad they’re doing it given two years now is pretty much nothing.

No problem! It was just announced yesterday, so figured not everyone knows yet.

Visited Cartier boutique yesterday and ordered a custom strap for my Santos XL. Will take only 10 days to arrive. You get to choose the leather, the stitching, size, can have the inside initialled etc. A lot of fun!

Can you do me a favor and ask them if they can still do straps for the "Cartier Roadster Chronograph" when you go to pick it up? And what did it cost ya?
