I'm not sure how I feel about it. I wouldn't kick it out of bed if you know what I mean.

It is a stunning watch. The only aspect that might put me off is the polished white gold border around the date window. No other gmt has a border.

I'm not in the PM market, but I like it...I'd like it even more if they used a darker color meteorite for the dial, like what Omega has used on their Speedmasters. I think it would provide some nice contrast between the dial and the indices.

anyone saw this on the internet?
That watch is just an imitation of the original 1950 Pan-Am GMT. I gotta think the current version is at least somewhat inspired by the Pan-Am GMT. I don't see how the designers could make a whitish-dial Pepsi without thinking of it.

Good eye -- I've looked at pics of this watch a dozen times and never noticed that. I guess the meteorite can't be cut to make a clean date window, so they have to put a frame around it. I actually like that better, I think. I find bare date windows a little stark.

On the new Pepsi, I don't think it meshes well, i.e. it competes with the insert.
What is the story/science behind the meteorite dial?

Meh, that slice of meteorite is at most worth $100. They aren't that expensive.

That’s cool regardless of how much the meteorite is worth. I like that each dial is unique

Black looks best. Blue 2nd and the meteorite a very distant 3rd for me.

I thought it looked awful on first looking but it’s definitely grown on me, almost to the point where it could be a contender for an “only watch”. There’s something about the meteorite dial that works with the DNA of the watch.
Maybe I’m overthinking it.

The red/blue + meteorite is a bit busy to me. Maybe it would have looked better in the new YM 42?

I think it’s fantastic and that it’ll be my PM Rolex if that day ever comes. The tone on tone approach reminds me of my platinum dialed yachtmaster, though I think the gmt is a lot more legible. I also agree with the guys saying that, as great as it looks in pictures, it’s likely a total stunner in the flesh and I can’t wait to see one in the wild at Shreve and Co if one ever makes it into a glass case.

The meteorite fits so well with the jet age and space age heritage of that amazing reference. And the fact that no two will be alike is also an artistic statement from Rolex, their decision to use slices from a space rock that wandered too close, got caught in our gravity, and then fell to earth without burning up completely. How cool is that!

Gotta say, it’s not for me. I think the black face was the best of all the WG GMT’s.

I’ve seen a couple of photos where it looks ok, but I just think it takes away from the bezel which is what I’d want to stand out.

I really like this version of the GMT Master II. I think it's brave from Rolex to introduce such a piece. Nobody expected to see this. I agree on the comments that it would have been nice to see a white dial version of the GMT Master II. Wait till you see the first celebs rocking this new GMT, everybody will love it..

I think one of the best Basel releases. The meteorite dial is gorgeous.
