Royal Oak 15450

There has been a lot of chat about this watch recently, and there are some with very strong views in terms of it being a ladies watch, and they are absolutely entitled to their opinion which is as valid as any other. In fact, my wife is wearing my silver dial AP tonight and it looks great on her, in an over-sized way.

But I’m wearing my blue dial reference, and I challenge anybody to say it’s too small. I have small wrists and one thing I’ve learned over the years is that a watch is as much about fit to the person wearing it as anything else.

I didn’t buy the 15450 because I couldn’t source or afford a 15202, I bought it because it suits me.

So for all you guys that are torn because of the ladies watch reputation, don’t be. Be a real man and don’t give a damn what others think.

Also you say be a real man and don’t care about what others think. But you obviously care what others think or this post you made wouldn’t exist. So in a way not a real man = ladies watch.

It's not a ladies' watch.

I have a blue 15450 as well and love it. I also have smaller wrists and it fits me perfectly. The 15202 was just too big on me.

Congrats , I’ll take your challenge - it’s too small. For me, that is. But “small” is subjective, so it’s a moot challenge to make !

Roundabout way of saying congrats and enjoy. While not for everyone , the 450 is a great piece for those to whom it feels “right”.

I still don't get this. How come the guys wearing a Rolex Daytona 6263 don't feel that they have to defend the size of their watches? Are the size of Paul Newman's price adjusted?
A 37mm Royal Oak is not that small a watch.

Hello Martin, now banned Aquaman had mentioned something about your wife on a previous post. May I politely ask what is the story behind it? Did you get Aquaman banned?

You’re quite the comedian and no I didn’t have anything to do with his being banned. But I can tell you this, my ex wife and I get along quite well and believe it or not we have two perfectly normal adult children. Unlike you. But thanks for asking.

Its not the case size but the tiny dial and especialy the bezel/dial ratio which makes the 15450 polarizing/weird. I have both the 15450 and the 15400. You cannot compare the 15450 with anything IMO. Daytona, exp1 and even a DJ36 work fine on my '7+ wrists. The 15450 is to small however and looks like i'm wearing my wifes watch. Try it if you have <6.5. Maybe it works. Above i would look at the 15300 or 15202

Yep. All a bit unnecessary. But that’s the way it seems to be sadly.

Enjoy your watch and I understand the point of your post. I had a 15450, and it is the shape of the case that makes the size of this watch understated and wear large. I have 6.75" wrists and the 15400 was way too big, border line goofy. I tried the 15300 on before I was ready to buy when they were in AD's inventory and I could have ran with that size. Was considering the 15202 which would have fit me as well, but while I love the history and provenance of the caliber I wanted a quick set date. Now the 15202 is impossible to find a retail.

In closing I don't understand some of the comments and psycho-analysis you received in this thread. Wear it in the best of health and congratulations mate and thank you for sharing.

Did someone just assume your gender?

You be what you want to be and wear any watch you like.

I thinks it comes down to the size of your wrist, I've seen some wrists where the 41mm look humongous and then others where it fits just right. If it fits you better than that's the perfect size!

Cringe thread. Abandon all hope ye who enter here. Real men with mustached men arm tattoos are telling everyone what a real man does. Just wear what you want to wear why the need to get validation from strangers on the internet?

No validation required thank you, you’ve misread the purpose of the post. This has long been a watch frowned upon by many on here, and yet I have bought two, so hardly the sign of someone that needs validation. I do however like to bang the drum for this watch due to the negative comments I see on this forum to those who are considering it, and the often written suggestion that it’s a ladies watch.

As for the mustached man, it’s not ANY moustached man and there is sentiment behind it, but I’m sure I won’t be there only one to spot the undertone.
