Icon7 Anyone know of an AD with JC Deepsea? London or Paris

Hello,

I finally did the hardest part, deciding on which Rolex to make my first (or so I thought) but now it seems an impossible task to actually find one at an authorized dealer.

Have any of you seen, recently, a James Cameron Deepsea Sea Dweller at your local AD?

I am located in Ohio, but will gladly fly to AD if need be to pick one up.

In 2 weeks I’ll be in London and Paris for a few days, so if any of you are from there and have seen that beautiful blue/black gradient dial in a window - please let me know.

Sadly there are so many in the Gray market but honestly for 1) I do not wish to condone or help it in any way by buying it there, even though I’d gladly pay premium for having it, but also 2) I do really want my name to be first on that warranty card and not Mr. XXXX.

Hope some of you cold assist me.

Thanks!

Petar

I think your chances are pretty much zero, a black is more likely, but even these in are 6 month wait these days if you lucky. I also believe that the Blue/Black is no longer arriving at ADs so maybe discontinued now anyway?

Dupe...

I think getting them outside of UK is easier, also depends on your previous history I assume... Both things are working against the OP.

Dupe....

My first watch I got from my AD is actually a deepsea, it was a walk-in. I guess I am lucky.

I was offered one recently, and picked it up. Very happy with it.

I don’t get the sense that the JC will be limited or going away anytime soon. Hang tight and I am sure you will get yours soon.

Never heard of this - care to shed more light? Now that Rolex updated the DSSD JC it would be really unusual for it to be going away.

Was at ad last week and he mentioned it, seemed to think he wouldn't get any more now. But, only Rolex know I guess, we will see....

Keep searching OP. Was offered one a couple months ago but passed. So it's out there. Good luck!

Thanks for the info.

For a few of you up there who said - you saw one or were offered one by your AD - could you by any chance share AD info so I can call and inquire.

As I mentioned - I’ll gladly fly over to wherever AD is in order to get one.

Any info would be appreciated.

As far as the “get on the list” - the only AD in Columbus Ohio is Diamond Cellar and they 1) have a very limited selection, and 2) have told me pretty much there are no lists / or expected deliveries for this year. :-/

Not sure if this is allowed, but DavidSW has 3 or 4 on his website right now.

And the mark ups and pretty marginal. Get one from a gray, no sales tax and its probably close to a wash.

David has one for 12.6, which would be less than MSRP + tax.

I’m looking for blue dial (JC) so those are a bit more.

I see one from David on Chrono with stickers.

As I see 2 people recommending him - is it safe to assume the watch is authentic and he’s a known seller?

It’s likely zero chance

I would think once someone has turned down a JC the sales associate is dialing the next number within seconds to someone on their VIP list and someone who they know

So by the time you’re hear about a piece turned down, it’s gone already. Forget being an unknown person or the time it takes to fly there

Well now I have, too :)

David should give you guys some commission as I just received my JC Deep Sea. I wanted to go through an AD but as you said - it is either a long waiting game, or an impossibility.

I decided to pay a bit of a premium as DavidSW was recommended by you here, and I liked that his watch still had all the stickers on. :)

Ordered yesterday. This morning FedEx was already knocking at my door by 10am. He’s quicker than Amazon Prime!

Thanks all. I appreciate your advice.
