Rolex Air-King "Double Red"
I've been researching the Air-King 5500 and keep reading about the rare "double red" variation where both the Air-King and Super Precision are in red. This means it's a Cal. 1530, which I thought would help me find something, but I haven't had any luck finding a picture of this variation. Does anyone know why I can't seem to find a picture of this one anywhere?

I too have heard of the rare 5500 double red Air King Precision. I've seen them referenced on different watch enthusiast web sites, but never seen a picture.

I’ve seen many articles, blogs, threads on this forum, etc. mentioning the Double Red Air-King, and, yet, not one has included a picture of one.
Are we 100% sure they’re not a myth? |

Seems pretty likely. I am guessing it was a mix up on some forum or blog about the double red SD, and then just kept getting tossed around as blogs continued to reference one another for their articles.

They may be like the aftermarket Tudor "red" Ranger dials.

I think this might well be an Air King Double Red - what do you think?

Train Man's post shows an earlier style of dial and the watch is possibly a 6652, similar to the one in this advertisement. I don't think it originally had double red printing, but it is more likely that some printing has faded from black to gray.

I am having sleepless nights now! Do I need to "establish" a "relationship" with "my" "AD" now to obtain such a piece? What if there is a Triple Red, which, by definition, should be even "better" than a Double Red??!??! |
