I once made a donation to a charity of their choice in their name as they weren’t allowed to accept gifts.......usually though its a bottle of champagne.....even if they dont like it its nice to have a bottle in the fridge to give to friends and family that do.

I recommend Blue Nun. It’s hard to find these days but she’ll certainly remember you.

Do you give every sales store a gift when you buy any other product, just a polite thank you thats all needed. All ADs are in business for one thing only to sell as many of there products to anyone who enters there retail store.

Could be seen as a bribe, by her colleagues. May make her feel indebted. It's a little weird, too.

A thank you should be enough.

On occasion I will make a gift beyond the purchase price for a sales associate or other that goes above and beyond. I prefer to give a gift card to a local restaurant and a nice note. The last time I did this was to the local Ruth's Chris. It was appreciated and well deserved.

I’ve had it for a few years and don’t plan on drinking it. Honestly like the taste of Elijah Craig 18 year and others better.

Certainly is, we've gone from vintage Dom P to Blue Nun, and I thought all us Rolex types were the same.

I think a bottle of wine/champagne and a hand written note would be a nice gesture. Yes, they are earning a healthy profit on this transaction, but, there's nothing wrong with a gesture of gratitude.

I picked up my Explorer last week on first asking, without being on a list. When I got home I just sent an email to the SA, with a wristshot, saying thanks again and I look forward to the next purchase. Granted it wasn’t a Hulk but I feel that’s all that’s required.

Suggestions of an expensive gift seem a bit off to me. Each to their own but I would feel a bit awkward about it as it could be seen as “sucking up“ or bribery. Maybe a box of chocolates or something at most.

Thanks. I plan on buying the staff pizza. My SA is also the owner so I don’t think she will feel any type of way.

ADs aren't doing you any favors. It is you, the customer, who is doing them the favors.

How are people losing sight of this?!

New AD came through in the clutch so now I want to give a thoughtful thank you gift.

I’d say this is an accurate statement if he purchased a pricey Ulysses Nardin or gold/diamond encrusted day date. But a hulk...she could have easily sold that piece to 300 other guys. It was indeed a score.

This is my line of thinking. I don’t even have a purchase history with them. In this crazy market retail and market value are very different. If I went grey market I would be spending about 14-15k for this watch used. Buying brand new for 10k is a win imo.

If I had said no I’m sure it wouldn’t have lasted another hour. So I do feel very fortunate.

In this day and age if someone takes the time to pick out a paper card, write something in it and send it through snail mail it impresses me more than about anything else does. A handwritten thank you card covers a lot of ground. It's not the card so much as the time spent doing it, composing a message and so on. A thank you card is a gift of your time. It's classy too.

Congrats on the incoming OP. Sure she gets paid to sell watches but you're that guy who still wants to do a little something to show your appreciation and there's nothing wrong with that. Kudos for your thoughtful gesture. Looking forward to the pics.

Alcohol might not be for everyone....Tickets to a show, gift card, or maybe ask another employee what your SA really enjoys. Can't go wrong thinking from the heart, something more individually specific will last, in her/his memory.......
