Good deal for 5711 1A
Was offered a SS blue 5711 mint full set from 2018 for 50k today. Do you think it is a good deal? Seems price continues downward path.

I wouldn´t pay more than MSRP for a 5711, so many other interesting watches can be had for 50k.

Not worth 50k to me. But it’s a lovely watch, and with the current climate, who knows how many good deals lie further ahead.

Good deal as in compared to a month ago? Or good deal compared to msrp? Two different answers and you would need to answer them yourself.

Looking at this thread posted three days ago I doubt it´s worth discussing.

I absolutely love this watch. I’s elegant and beautiful. The blue dial especially. I’ve had a chance to hold one and try it on. Having said that I don’t think it’s worth what they are asking for as far as MSRP goes and that’s 28K. I would buy this watch at 18K. Just like the AP 15400 and now the 15500 both of which are just as nice if not better then the Patek 5711 and they are not even worth what they’re asking for retail now. IMHO
OP think of all the magnificent pieces including ones with awesome complications you can get for 50K. Now is 50K a good price since just a month ago they were asking 65K for the exact same reference? With things the way they are why don’t you wait a little longer? I’m not convinced like some others that the whole watch market is going to crash but I bet this particular reference comes down quite a bit. Not to mention you’ll always be able to buy one even when the economy gets better again. So if you don’t mind waiting you see how much further it will come down.

I think the 5711 is one of the watch which can hold the value very well. Should you purchase at 50k, I don’t think the price will drop too much in future.
The slim case and clean dial of 5711 are the best part of this watch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Wait another month.... When the dealers have gone another 4 weeks without selling ANYTHING. Then you may be tempted to wait another 4 weeks, when they still sold very little. Then buy it at the new lower price. After all, what the rush? You going to wear it around your kitchen? |

Crazy what these sell for. I remember ~3 years ago they were around MSRP. I love the white 5711 and would love to add one eventually but I’ve seen them up around 70k, that’s insane IMHO since I remember seeing them in 2017 around 25-30k (don’t remember exactly but close to MSRP).

The better question is whether they are selling significantly less than they were in pre-covid times such that their cash flows are not enough to meet their outgoing obligations. I think this is the case right now. |

I’ve never been against wishful thinking my entire life. So good luck.

As far as value goes it seems prices will be on a downward slide for another month before any comeback.

The premiums on this watch will really drop if the "in crowd" has moved on from hot watches. I would wait, I do not see them going higher in the near term.

No one knows what the future market looks like. The answer to the question is how upset will it make you if prices move to 35k? Can you a afford a 50k toy and not have regrets? What would you do if market moved to 75k again? There’s obviously a wholesale retail spread so figure you probably wouldn’t sell the watch once you’ve bought?
I personally thought nautilus was awesome at 23k but didn’t have the money at the time. If I were wealthy enough I would buy at 50 but I won’t ever get there in my profession. Like I would have to be crazy wealthy personally |

I think currently we are gonna see a kind of U related the prices we had 2 weeks ago. In these days we see prices dropping a bit because some dealers with many pieces are really worried about the current situation and they prefer to sell them but when all of this is over, the prices will go up again.
The brands, as PP in this case, will continue with their strategy so the hot pieces will keep on the same way than a month ago. |

If you have to have it now 50k for a full set 5711 blue from 2018 sounds like an ok deal.
That being said 50k is a lot of money no matter how beautiful and desirable the 5711 currently may be. In that price range there are lots of options. At some point the 5711 will become less fashionable again and preowned prices may drop a lot more than 5k or 10k. You should certainly ask yourself if you'll still like it when the hype is gone. In my eyes it remains a great watch but having paid MSRP in 2018 feels like more than enough. If it was solely a rational matter I should sell ASAP but I have always liked the 5711 and this one in my name will stay. |

Stock markets ranked to near 2016 levels. Remember how much 5711 was in 2016? Yeah, bad deal

There is another 5711 in our classifieds that has been dropped down 10 grand in the last week and im sure the seller will drop it further in the next few days if no one grabs it.

I don't think people realize
