Datejust 36 or Datejust 41 for Smaller Wrists

My wrist is on the small side, and I am having a tough time deciding whether the Datejust 36 or Datejust 41 would fit me better. I seem to be right on the cusp, where there is no real clear answer. This is annoying.

To add to the confusion, I can't tell whether I have flat or round wrists.

I just measured my wrist, and it is 6.5 inches (16.5 cm). I plan on losing 20 pounds, so I imagine my wrists will get significantly smaller -- perhaps as small as 6 inches (15.2 cm).

Attached are two pictures that show my Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight from the top and side. It seems the BB58 is comparable to the DJ 41 in the lug-to-lug measurement.

What do you think? Could I wear both the DJ 36 and DJ 41 comfortably? I'd prefer to get the DJ 41 because I want a white dial with sticks, which isn't currently available as a DJ 36.

I have a DJ 36

And three sports models 40mm

Obviously I want a 36 mm dj in the mix of 40Mm Rolex sports models

And 36 is classic size

My wrist is 5.5 inch

36mm is something different from the usual 40

The ‘41’ is only 3mm wider than the 36.

Who knows where Rolex got the 41 from?

I have a DJ36. 7 inch wrist. Love the size for everyday easy wear. My most used watch.

Also have a bunch of 40+mm watches.

Given your wrist size I don't know why you'd be thinking about the larger size - 36mm every day of the week. (Just my opinion, obvs.)

You shouldn’t be thinking the 41. They look huge for to the dial size. I’m have a 6.5 and dj36. Fits very well.

They're both great, I find the 36 (on oysterclasp jubilee) the most comfortable fit of all the watches I've worn without any weird adjustments or bracelet swaps but then again I have 6 1/4" wrists and they're not at all wide across the top. Reckon you could easily enjoy either - worth trying out both if you can I reckon.

For your wrist size I'd suggest to go 36mm.

Im close to a 7" wrist and 36mm looks perfect on me. Ive noticed people pushing 41mm by default sort of implying its the manly thing todo but thats silly.

If they added a 38 DJ that would be the perfect size for me. In lieu of that option I think its better to size down for a snug fit, then size up and look ungainly.

Last thing - Top-down wrist shots don't tell the full story, I think people wearing over-sized watches look the worst from the sides when you see the overhang.

36mm for sure. This one right here is one of the best alongside the blue dial! Now if they brought out an olive green dial..

The Datejust 36 is very comfortable, I have 6,75 wrists and like the 36 a lot. My other watches are 40+, initially it felt small but I would say the size is perfect for the type of watch.

If it’s on jubilee than no question about it 36 !!! ... 41 is just too much and the dial almost too empty

I think you will be fine with the 41mm. Your wrist is more flat than round. If you’re comfortable with 40mm ceramic professional models then you should be ok with 41mm. I don’t think your wrist will shrink that much with weight loss; maybe 1/4 inch.

I'd go with 36, seems right for the DJ.

I think the 36 will look more proportional on your wrist. Bummer about your preferred dial not coming in that size.

I feel like if your wrist is 7 or less, the 36 is the right size. I am between 7.25 and 7.5 and the 36 looked too small on me so I sold two 36 and bought a 41. Now i have the size that looks right. It is best to try on both, you will know which is best.
