Thanks for all the replies so far. The overwhelming majority of you say the DJ 36 would fit me better. If the DJ 36 came with white sticks, it would be a done deal. But it doesn't. The DJ 41 does.
So now I must ask: Do you think the DJ 41 would still fit me comfortably and look good on my wrist? As mentioned, my wrists are apparently more flat than round. My wrists also probably won't shrink as much as I originally thought -- maybe they will end up at 6.25 inches (15.9 cm). |

Get an OP39 with a white dial. A DJ41 is way too big for you. You wear the size of the watch not the color of the dial.

I have a 6.75" wrist and I prefer my 36mm Datejust over a 41mm Datejust all day long.

I have a nice and flat 6.75” wrist. Had a DJ2, sold it. I have a DJ41, am selling it. Both had bracelet each side, as opposed to some of the comical photos I see here where every last mm of wrist is taken up with the watch case itself. Guess what I’m going to buy now which is what I should have chosen originally; DJ36. The DJ isn’t supposed to be a large watch. It is supposed to look classy, elegant, not ostentatious, which I personally feel it has become in its 41mm guise. It’s not meant to be the same size as a diver?!? If you have a 8” wrist, then the 41 will look how the 36 looks on a 7” wrist. If not, then it’s not for you. |

Sub - 41 side by side
If this helps, this is 114060 besides datejust 41. The 41 wears much smaller on my wrist, probably closer to the size of the pre-ceramic subs.

36mm gets my vote, classic proportions. I feel like the 41mm was to cater the larger case trend throughout the recent years.
I also think it's always safer when you wear a smaller watch. But not the other way around. In your case, get the 36mm! |

Adding to the suggestions of 36mm DJ.
Another thing to consider is the 36mm case size will add more diversity to your collection, pairing nicely with your BB58. To continue this idea I would suggest you get the DJ on Jubilee bracelet with fluted bezel. Then you will have two different case sizes, bracelets, and types of watches. A very nice pair! Let us know what you decide. |

I think the 41 is more sporty looking while the 36 is more classic and more comfortable for sure. I’d go with the 36 for sure. If you really want a white stick dial then maybe you can consider OP36. I have it and it’s very comfortable.

The 41mm will look too big on his wrist, especially if he's planning on slimming down some more. He'll have to pick another config for the 36mm or live with the larger 41mm for his wrist size.

A 41 looks a lot bigger than a 36, and definitely more than 3mm bigger. Anyone actually measure the watch with digital calipers? |

I love the 36mm version for both the DJ and the DD. 36mm just fits those styles the best. I’ll leave the 40mm+ for the divers

I have 6.75inch wrists. Had a DJ2and couldn't pull it off and sold it less than a month later.
Before buying a 36 I also tried on the 41, although the case is slightly more refined than the DJ2 I still couldn't pull it off and went with a 36 in the end. I also find that watches wear smaller on a jubilee as the jubilee doesn't add to the lug to lug by way of the solid end link like the oyster does. So maybe try a 41 on jubilee or a 36 on oyster. 36 DJ2 |

That 36mm Datejust looks perfect on you. That 41mm DJ looks terrible on you. |

Thing is, on the wrist, the 41 would look bigger than a bb58 or as someone mentioned above, as big as a Sub because the actual dial is bigger and the bezel is thinner.
Similar case with a 214270 v 114060. Explorer imo looks bigger on the wrist because it is mainly dial. |

The DJ41 is actually only +/- 39.5mm, which should be perfect for 6.5” wrist.

I don’t know why everybody always has a hissy fit over the 41mm size being too big, but yet praise the Explorer as being the perfect size !

36 for sure, it has better proportions than the 41. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and the 36 is perfect size.
If you want white with sticks you could always get a 116200 |

Datejust 36 or Datejust 41 for Smaller Wrists
Quote:
I own a DJ41 and have measured with my callipers. It is indeed 39.5. You’re right, though, it is essentially the same size as a Sub. It appears larger to you as it’s a slimmer watch, so it will emphasise the length and width, but also, the dial itself is one of the largest that Rolex manufacture - larger than the Sub/GMT etc. I’m not sure many people know that the DJ36 has the same size dial as the Sub C. |
