+2. I think that makes the most sense seeing the two brands relationship.

Can’t we stop it with the fauxtina already?

Good luck fighting that one. I was really not a fan at first, but now it doesn't really bother me (depending on the particular watch). But yes, I get it.

Excessive fauxtina needs to be stopped. I will say though that some designs look better with ecru numbers or indices, rather than a stark white.

Feels like a microbrand diver to me - similar looking to a Baltic or something else sub- $1K. I understand that its a high end brand, limited edition, good finishing, etc. but not feeling the love.

Agree as well; I bought a BBN because I like the warmness of the ecru vs. the stark white of the blue bezel BB. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...I think people need to get over calling it fauxtina and just realize that it's another option for indices and numerals.

I, for one, LOVE fauxtina if well executed.

I’m just impressed by all the folks buying these Hodinkee collaborations and trying to flip them. I think in most cases these are great options for watch collectors who find something special that sings to them and want to keep them, but I really think the expectation for appreciation is overblown. Just on this site alone there’s a Hodinkee omega listed below retail not selling and a Hermes Hodinkee that’s not moving either.

Just OTT. Quick shot. Raining today in NJ but will take more outside when weather breaks.

First impressions is that it’s a GREAT presentation three straps and nice case. I can see why some don’t like 38mm but perfect on my 6.75” wrist. Big crown looks really good. Strap is a bit short...I’ll probably have it mostly on NATO but they could’ve included a reg length strap.

It’s just a color, and in a lot of cases looks better than stark white. No one is trying to fool anyone here.

I love my Seamaster 300. I wouldn’t love it as much with pure white hour markers.

The ceramic bezel looks gray in pics, but it really is black. Head-on pics tend to look grayer than real life.

I’m very happy with it. I wore another 38mm piece the day before to acclimate but I don’t see the size being an issue at all on my 7” wrist.

Looks awesome. I think Hodinkee did a great job with this.

If possible, please some comparison shots (no close-ups but with a bit of distance) with some well known watches so we can see the dimensions.

My 40mm mil-spec wears like a 39mm but my Bathy 43mm wears bigger. Could be the Hodinkee Bathy wears like a 39mm or even 40mm.

Blancpaon x Hodinkee- any guesses ?

Sorry for crappy shots...cloudy out and lots of diffused light. This gives you some indication on size. Not much smaller that the GMT. Wears a lot like 39mm piece since it has longer lugs.

Thanks for the pics. Looks a bit bigger indead i think because of the dial (same with the 43 bathy). Not sure if it would have worked for my 7+ wrist but on yours it looks great. In comparison my Bathyscape 43:

The bathy def wears larger because of the lugs. This size looks perfect on your wrist.

I was curious what it takes on a sale price to break even on an eBay flip. $10,800 on a $9,900 watch nets a $493 loss to the seller.

$11,700 sale nets a $297 profit

There are three of these currently on eBay with not much action.
