I have a few on that list...cool.

Let's hope finally a 5270p!

I doubt we will see a 5270p this year, its the 50th anniversary of the ellipse.

Why though? I know it has had slow sales and is discounted but it is to me the best rendition of the 5270 series. Perhaps a rose with a brown or black dial is in the offerings this year. The white dial is so much more legible to me.

Why would they not release a 5270P because of the 50th anniversary of the ellipse (assuming they do something for the anniversary of the latter)?

I just got a 5170r and love it. I think the softness on all the 5170s in the secondary market is starting to firm up. The retail on these was just too high for the market when Lange's 1815 Fly back Chronograph retails for 50K.

Congrats. Did you get the white dial?

It seems a shame to stop this one. They finally got it right. The earlier models just looked too off balance. A white with white dial would be nice.

The main focus this year will be on the ellipse plus as usual a totally new novelty

We could see a 5270j; you never know

You may know better than I, but I still don't see the release of a 5270P competing with the 50th anniversary of the Ellipse. I think both can coexist at Basel 2018 as their fan bases are likely very different anyway. In any event, I'm looking forward to this year's Basel - it is starting to look like it will be quite exciting!

Most of the people here think it due to be discontinued because it been in production for over 10 years....

No doubt it's one of the best seller AC Patek that have the iconic look.......

So I guess like what you say my friend it should be safe.....

NYC boutique confirmed these additional cancellations to me this week as well. Didn’t hear about 5140P though.

just curious is this normal? That seems like a lot of discontinuations. Haven't really kept a running tally before, but some of these do surprise me, the 5205 in particular.

Its over 10% of their catalogue

Since the older 3738 Golden Ellipse watches are being discontinued, I can see Patek coming out with newer models, possible the larger 5738 in other metals for their 50th Anniversary. IIRC Patek released a set of platinum Golden Ellipses for their 40th Anniversary.

Maybe they quit from the slow movers to give full boost on 5711/12.

The person I was talking to at the NYC boutique was hopeful for a nautilus PC. 5726 layout with the two dots like on other recent PCs. Would be pretty cool.

Prices for 5208 will go up soon, as this watch is a very popular watch (in its segment) and extremely difficult to make. The ones on the waiting list will have to revert to the grey market. Yes, there was a serious waiting list on this model.

Wait does that mean the 5205R is also discounted? The rose gold one with black dial?

So just that style of watch is completely gone? Like the reference? Wow, that style was my top choice for Patek. I liked how the dial was arranged on 5205’s a lot.
