Would you buy it?

Hello, I found a nice pre-owned Panerai to buy and the seller sent me some pics and one of the pics showed a very weird scratch in the back. Not sure exactly what happened but if you're in my shoes, would you buy it? Thanks.

i'd buy it if that's a model i wanted and priced accordingly. Scratches like that are nothing, and hopefully your timepiece will get MANY more of them due to daily wear

Sure. Just make sure it’s reflected in the price. You don’t spend a lot of time looking at the caseback anyway, especially if it isn’t an exhibition caseback.

Wouldn't stop me at all. Maybe mention to the seller and see if he can take another 5% off the price due to the scratch?

Thanks and he agreed to 3% off more. The scratch is not as visible as it's comparing to what the pic shows. Thanks for the feedback

If that’s the only “issue” with the watch, go for it!!!

If it bugs you, a few careful minutes with a fiberglass scratch pencil would likely have that scratch nearly invisible. Total non-issue.

Did you buy?

scratches on used watch doesn't bother me, as long as its reflected in the price.

also, the caseback edge looks good, its not like some one tried to open it with a leatherman tool :)

It depends on how much it bugs you personally. No it's not a big deal and you'll add your own scratches to it anyways... but sometimes you want to make all of them yourself! lol.
