Anyone Modern, then Vintage, then back to Modern Rolex?!

Hello all

Looking at the watch enthusiasts here, most of them started with modern Rolex and then Vintage and possibly settle in vintage afterwards...

Anyone eventually gave up vintage and all back to new and modern Rolex again?

Thanks for your thoughts!!

Cheers
S

I started with a datejust. Then went ceramic. But once I caught the vintage bug I haven't looked back. The only modern watch I miss was my 16710 Coke Gmt. Perfect daily wear and so versitle.

I love collecting vintage Rolex and can honestly say I'd Never give it up.

I've always loved vintage stuff, bought my burst vintage rolex as it was te nicest watch I could afford for the price point, and the only modern I plan on buying is a birth year(1994) blue dial 2 tone submariner

I've always had a mix, about half and half. But I will say, other than a 42mm Polar Exp II and possibly a DSSD, I've bought my last modern Rolex. Unless, of course, the morning brings something......amazing. And a ceramic anything ain't it.

IDK.... Look at all the great stuff he missed. I like being vintage, myself!

Vintage rules...I'm either going to sell or trade my 2001 18k & Stainless Submariner and gold Mont Blanc Meisterbruck chronometer in pristine condition to help fund a specimen level Red Sub or a warmed patina "Great White" Sea Dweller...might have to have both :)
I Will hold on to my dad's Omega Seamaster Cal 321 chronometer and my NOS solid gold Accutron Astronaut and first year solid gold Accutron Spaceview...everything else is quite likely to be liquidated to help fund inevitable vintage Rolex sport watch purchases.

I had a 1016 as a daily beater, beautiful piece, light, comfortable and patina was superb but found that I needed the date complication and flipped it.
Own two modern watches today but now looking at delving into vintage once again.
I just love the tritium look and considering a 5512, 5513 or 1680 or 14060- I just can't make up my mind

I like both for different reasons. I have a TT Blue SubC as my everyday watch, but wear a Sub 16808 18k, blue nipple dial when in a suit. I primarily collect manual wind chronographs, so 1970s Daytonas and original Tudor Monte Carlos are my go to watches for every weekend, race and travel.
