Issue with 305
I have a 305 about 3 years old and there is an issue with the winding stem. I can wind the watch and advance the hour hand but when pulled fully out I cannot advance the time (all hands).
AD says they MAY be able to fix for $75 without sending to Panerai. I hope that is the case. I thought of trading it for a 1305 but would have to kick in too much $. I'd "need" to have a PAM with 26mm lugs due to my strap collection! I will advise once repair is done. |

Yeah get it repaired first. For submersibles 1305 is your best bet, otherwise you have to go above 10k retail to find another 47mm. I think you are gonna end up kicking in 4-5k to trade , you can wait a little longer with the watch repaired until you feel comfortable with adding extra cash for a trade The other watches that come to mind at 47mm (26mm lugs) are the classics : Pam 372, Pam 557, Pam 422 , Pam 423. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Full movement service at PSC would be $600 to $800. If you like your 305, just have it serviced and it would be as good as new. :)

Keep the 305, but send it to the service center.
Don't let the AD mess around with it. |

If you trust the AD then let them have a try. The worst that will happen is they can not repair it and off to the Service Center it goes. I would not trade the watch. You got it right it just needs a repair.

Thanks for the advice. My AD has Panerai trained techs and I trust them to either fix it or have me send it in. I have confidence that they won't hose it. I agree that 4-5k extra for the new movement isn't worth it.

The AD successfully resolved the issue for the poultry sum of $75. I just wish the timekeeping were better. Won't mess until service time. It's not a daily wearer so I set it 15 seconds slow and let it catch up.

Well done. Your AD should be able to regulate the watch should you choose. It can do much better than 15 seconds a day.

Thanks for the support. I really like the 47mm and heft of this piece. My other PAM is a 176 which I love for its simplicity.
