A popular model?
Cheaper model? Can't have been too successful given they no longer do them?

Thank You Jocke ! I had NEVER seen one dismantled !!
I was ready to purchase the specific watch back in '86, model 17013, just as a companion to my then SS DJ, Sub, AK and GMT collection, (), but all my friends then said -A Rolex in quatrz ? Never ! It must be a crap ! Now you have just proved the opposite ! Excellent photos, as always

great pics, Jocke
I wore an OQ 17000 for about 5 years, and I've got nothing but praise for the watch, beautiful, tough, accurate. The design of the case and integrated bracelet is top notch, makes it a very comfortable watch to wear.Wish i never sold it.

Irony, just think the RSC's probably have one watchmaker left who knows how to work on these, and dozens who understand the timeless mechanical movements.

Actually the Rolex quartz is completely unique in design and function. It uses an escape wheel pallet fork and gearing very similiar to the automatic 3035 series. It uses a stepping motor that makes a very discernable tick tick when running. It is a very fine movement and keeps excellent time, I am servicing one this week so timely photo's and Jocke great shots as usual. Rik
