The under recognized reality-116610LN will appreciate in value and charm!
Mine won’t be going anywhere. A damn fine timepiece if you ask me.

Any Steel Sports Rolex no longer made eventually becomes rare. It’s just the way it is.

Pretty narrow way to look at it. You can still like the watch, but not the price, if you can't afford it or obtain it.

To be honest, they are heavier compared to my 4 and 5 digit subs. So, in order for the 6 digits to be comfortable on my fairly small wrist, I wear them a bit more snug and above the wrist bone. They still have a bit of play and occasionally sneak past the bone and toward the hand, but I promptly place the watch back up so it feels comfortable again LOL
FYI wrist shots are the only time I am ok with the watch being closer to the hand.

It can’t be rare when they made a million of one item. A modern sub will never be rare. I think people want there extremely common subs to be special because potentially a new model will be released. Is a 16610 rare? Never. Submariners are the Ford F150 of rolex sports watches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Easily one million that’s probably significantly lower than the real number. Everyone owns or buys a sub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's always the case whenever something new comes out. We can all like different things and be happy with it.
It reminds me how everyone wanted waves on SMP 300 dial. Omega brought back the waves, now there's an entire legion that admires the last gen laquer dial (including myself). Sub is perhaps quadruple in number! I am sure the effect is gonna be just as pronounced. Especially if the new sub is 41mm. Million and one purists are gonna want the only sub that's 40mm and has ceramic bezel with a glidelock and superior bracelet. Hey even butterface gets second looks if she has great body. Same goes for the fat sub. LOL |

The current generation Sub is not rare.
Older Subs were tools to a lot of the people who bought them, so they were damaged, scratched, beat up, etc... This generation of Sub is jewelry. They are for the most part, kept pristine by their owners. Rarity of the older stuff comes from the fact that they weren't really taken care of like jewelry, so finding good examples is harder. I can close my eyes, go on Chrono24, and find 100 current gen. subs that are in damn near perfect condition. |

The Sub is the BMW 3 Series of the watch world; you either currently own one, once owned one, or know someone who owns/owned one, and you see them everyday/everywhere. The Hulk is the BMW M3 of the watch world; a unique and overpriced Sub wisely released by Rolex in limited quantities in 2010 at the height of the US economic recession. If you want a rare Sub then buy a Hulk. And I have owned all of the above products.

Hint: it isn't. The correct simile would be a BMW and a BMW Individual, if anything. |

Love my 114060 but will be picking up the new bluesy as well. Just tonight I asked a friend to tell the difference between the new and old. The only thing he could come up with is the crown. After I told him he said, who cares! But i do think the new version is going in the right direction.

Although I prefer the lugs of the new release as well as the older 16610LN, the 116610LN is still an awesome watch and I believe there is a good chance that collectors of the future will find it desirable love others. Time can only tell.

I’ll be adding but won’t be selling the one I have. Both can co-exist IMHO
