Michael Young bracelet restoration update

Michael is a VERY viable option. I sent a second bracelet out to him a week ago via FedEx which cut the outbid transport time by almost twelve days versus using USPS.

He sent me an email yesterday, two days after receiving my bracelet, stating the following;

Hi there:
 
Just went to the post office and picked up your band.  I have already put it in the queue and normally takes 8-10 weeks. But since we are limited in manpower there might be some delays if there is a tricky project in between, please be a little patient.
 
I shall email you once it is ready, and payment via paypal shall be requested then.

I have no problem with this minimal level of communication and happy with the service and the value offered. I just spent $2450 to buy a NEW TT 18k/SS oyster bracelet from my local Rolex AD for my 16753. Fortunately, I have a long standing relationship with them and they offered me a $300 discount on the purchase without my having to ask.

All the old ladies who need hand holding, please keep your stretched bracelets safe and sound in your possession so as not to clutter up the backlog of Mr. Young.

Three bracelets for comparison
 
Top bracelet:        Untouched stretched 14/SS Jubilee bracelet = moderate stretch
Middle bracelet:    Brand new SS Rolex jubilee band never worn = New NO stretch
Bottom bracelet:   14k/SS Jubilee bracelet refurbished/tightened by Michael Young*
 
* The bottom bracelet had MORE stretch than the top bracelet before Mr. Young tightened it!!!!

Be advised/fore warned, you have to send him the band and forget about it until he sends you an e mail saying it is ready and that you need to pay him.

Some TRF members need waaaaaayyyy too much hand holding to do business like that. In fact there are several he will not accept work from because is not worth the headache and hassle for the service he does versus the money he charges.

A big part of the wait time is the bracelet in transit. It took almost 15 days for it to get to him via USPS. He does have a Fed Ex address if you choose to use FedEx/DHL ect pwhich is what I do now.

The band is not like brand new, but it's damn close for only $150 and it will extend the life of a TT bracelet that others would be eyeing for scrap value of the gold links.

As soon as I got the bracelet in the photos back I sent him the top bracelet. When I et it back I will post the after photos for comparison purposes.

With results like that it's worth the wait, the price is cheap and I think I'll start looking for a TT jubilee and buy it and send it to MY.

I think you can come out ahead doing it this way as unworn, un-stretched jubilee's are pretty pricey

Yes that is Michael's website. FYI, the top stretched TT jubilee bracelet in my photos above has been with Michael over a month now and if the lat was any I dictator, it should be back by month end and I will post photos again.

About 3 years ago I sent my Bark President bracelet to Michael Young for repair.

Here are before and after pictures of my bracelet.

The first picture is before I sent the bracelet to Michael Young. The next two are after the "tightened" bracelet was returned.

MY also installed the two links that I had removed as the bracelet "stretched" over the 30 years I owned the watch. The restored bracelet would have been too small for my wrist without these two links.

I am thrilled with the results.
