Two opposite end of the wearing spectrum for me.
I much prefer the Dblue but only for weekend or wearing in rotation, it’s just an awesome watch. I’d choose the YM if I wanted one for daily wear though. Good luck deciding |

One of the keys to the DSSD is to get it adjusted properly. When you try one on at an AD it appears larger than it actually is because it does not fit right. The dial on the JC is very special and if it works that would be where I would go. The YM does nothing for me and is very soft in the secondary market. If the DSSD does not work I would talk to the AD and see what else might be had. A Hulk, BLRO, BLRN, SD43 or just a very nice Submariner.

I thought the deep blue DSSD would be too big until I strapped one on my tiny wrist. It’s awesome and wears so well regardless of your size.

I'm very biased but I say D-Blue. When fitted properly it does not wear overly big or heavy. Very comfortable and balanced. The dial and engineering that go into that watch are second to none.

Depending on the rest of your collection. if you have other watches as daily beaters then go with the d-blue, if it’s going to be your daily watch then go with the YM

It really depends what you want. If you want a Rolex buy a YM; if you want a cool Rolex that when you enter in a place all the people will ask you: what the hell is that? Buy a Dblue.

7.5 inch wrist here, and I do a JC DSSD as a daily.
Can't go wrong with either, though. |

Thanks all your input. I will pick up JC this weekend. For me, it is ultimate diving watch. I will not buy any diving watch for very long period. Next time, I will pick a GMT watch, Maybe Sky Dweller or GMT Master II?

I love this photo I’d go straight out and get myself on a list if I didn’t own one already.

Love the YM Blue....the sunburst dial absolutely pops in the sun, and love the red second hand that really stands out. I have the SD43 and it definitely rides bigger and heavier on the wrist. The YM is a lot more comfortable but absolutely love them both in my rotation. If you are looking for a daily wearer, I think the YM is a lot more wearable, depending on your wrist size.

I own both and wouldn't give up either! My YM does get more wrist time.

YM for me. I've got my fair share of macho 17mm+ thick divers, they're rarely worn.

The D blue is a big watch, I would say do a fitment and see what works best for you. I you have small wrist the D blue might be too bulky

Blue YM would be my vote. Sure, it may not be as sought-after as the DSSD, but it will be YOUR watch on YOUR wrist. What do you see yourself wearing more? The YM is, IMO, more versatile, stylistically, meaning it can be dressed up or down.
