Anyone close to Paris or know anyone from there?

Admin please remove if this is not allowed.

I bought a watch off a company in Paris and the watch was on an alligator strap. The company doesn't ship what could be an "endangered" species (bullcrap) strap, or let a shipping company pick it up from their premises. The only way this can be released is, by my authorization and released to an individual. So to the good people of RCW, is anyone close by to: 6 rue Duras, 75008 Paris, France?

If so, can I send you FedEx/Courier labels and you just drop it off at the FedEx dropbox and charge me a small fee?

I know I can buy a brand new band, but I want the band that came with the actual watch.. If that makes sense.

Anyways, I will leave a positive feedback here if this can be done. Thanks everyone!

Will they ship it in the EU or is it a blanket ban?

If they will ship to the UK I will send it on.

Hi Dave, thanks for the offer. They aren't willing to ship this anywhere unfortunately. It has to be picked up in person.

Does the strap have the CITES certificate? Newer straps commonly do, vintage not so much.

Alligator hide is regulated under the crocodilian section of CITES. If they have the cert for the strap they can ship it anywhere. If they dont, they cant ship it to anyone. And neither can you or your agents. You’d be asking folks here to break the law on your behalf.

If they dont have the cert, best course is to buy a new strap. Ask them to ship the hardware and install it on your new strap.

X2. Just ordered an alligator strap from Camille Fournet in Paris. It arrived safely to Charlotte - but its new and had the CITES cert completed before shipping.

Hi Abdullah, I have checked with FedEx and they have told me I am able to ship this. I have all the paperwork that came with the Glashütte Original watch so maybe thats enough if it gets stopped at customs?

As far as I'm concerned, I am not asking anyone to break the law.

Thanks for the insight.. Or shall I say InCITES.. HaHaaa... I'll show myself out.

Still looking for French members that could help!

Je parle Francais aussi, mais I prefer English.

Way to jump to a conclusion.

Did you even read the whole thread? And see where somebody was able to help. And that he got his watch and strap. And even showed a picture of it?
