Love the Sky D. Complications, size, proportions, bezel function. All in all such a fun watch to own!

Me personally I believe it is black lacquering. Some say it is sunburst. Each time I look at mine I do not see anything sunbursting out of dial. But let each believe in what he likes it to be! Nothing wrong with that. Have a look before you make the move.

Well it can't be both. rominvicta, do you own the watch? I've searched the forums a bit and most seem to say its sunburst; I just wanted confirmation from someone who owns the watch. If you have the watch, I don't see where the confusion comes from. There should be nothing to 'believe' - its either sunburst or its not.

Thanks Phooi, the dial definitely changes depending on how the light hits it, but it certainly looks to be sunburst. Here's hoping I can get an allocation.

Happy to help. Good news is that the black and white dials are easier to get. I wish you good watch fortune!

Agreed.
The black and white dials show a more of a subtle frosted surface conditioning but with a small degree of sunburst visible with the black and virtually none visible on the white with a very strong bias toward a frosted appearance on the white.
The blue is a different kettle of fish with more of a sunburnt finish that's more visible under certain light conditions.

If I had to quantify it.
I would say the white is > 90% frosted.
The black is around 70% frosted.
The blue is somewhere around 50/50.
All dependent upon lighting conditions of course.

Quick trip to the AD yesterday to try on watches and to adjust the bracelet. While waiting they gave my skyd a quick cleaning...

Does anyone have pics of theirs on an 8” wrist, or close to it? I have a DSSD but love this watch; just worried it’s a bit small.
Thanks in advance!

It's not too small at all. Here on my 8" wrist. It looks bigger and smaller depending on photo. In real life it's pretty much perfect....

Yes, I only have 2 Rolex watches at present, the blue Sky-Dweller and the 126710BLRO but the Sky-Dweller is my favorite!

Anyone catch the Sky Dweller discussion in https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/calibre-podcast-presented-by-watches-of-switzerland/id1437945178?i=1000448928098?

Discussed the Sky Dweller as the best value in the Rolex catalogue (vs. buying similar complications from other brands for $40k and up)

Recommended listening.
