Big congrats. Looking forward to your photos.

Just curious, and feel free to decline an answer. How is your 'standing' with the dealer. How much do you send a year, how long have you been doing business with this AD. Because in the Netherlands you need to be a special kind of unicorn to be allowed to buy a weekly

so you guys are saying that this is really a hard-to-get model and will remain one for some time? i still recall when the 5524G was considered very hard to get while now it is a staple PP.

It’s a stainless steel model and Patek Phillipe try to limit the stainless steel production compared to the precious metal

Hard to get now for sure. Predicting the future tough. Could go either way. I want one for sure regardless.

Everybody wants one

And that is exactly the problem. As said, PP limits the production of steel models and that drives up the price.

On the other hand, Theiry Stern said that the weekly is not a limited edition so they will be producing it for years to come (at least five). The only question now is... will the Nautilus craze spread to the weekly or will there be enough of a form of market saturation to drive the prices down.

Personally, i expect the price for a 'pre owned' model to stabilize at around 10 or 20 % above list prices in a couple of years

They should be allocated to existing dress watch owners. Sports watch owners probably only want it for the flip

but all nautilus's are difficult to get, even in full gold. At my AD 5712 was the shortest waitlist as they only receive 1 to 2 gold nautilus's per year.

Hi Pim,
I’ve been dealing with this AD for over 20 years. Over that time I have introduced a number of my family, who have also become customers. As for how much I spend, I’m afraid its not considered polite in UK to talk so openly about such things. (I wouldn’t even tell my wife those figures!). But to give you an idea, both my brother and myself (with wife’s) have been on the factory tours.
But its nice to be likened to a unicorn!

PS I will get my daughter to upload a pic later today.

Thanks Fat Ninja.
No plans to change the strap at moment. It is going to be my everyday office watch. I think the strap colour will be good with my office dress.
I’m not against changing the original straps (I’ve done so on my 5524G). I love my 5524G but the brown strap is not the correct colour for that watch, in my opinion (sorry Mr Thierry Stern). Brown looks good on the 5524R but the 5524G should have a blue strap!
So far, I love it (my newest toy is always my best).

Afraid the 5212A doesn’t rate a winder. Surprised you could see anything in my first photo. Should look into seeing if I can remove that pic (it’s embarrassing)

Looks nice - do the day & week hands move slowly or simultaneously jump at midnight and Sunday (or is it Monday?)

Hey DGP,

Thanks for the answers and it explains a lot, i'm afraid that i will never come to that kind of standing with my AD. I do not have the funds to buy a new Patek every year and I have no family to introduce

I have a 5524G as well and I agree with you on the strap colour, I ordered a light brown strap. Maybe an other colour an a later date as well. Factory tours... i could only wish !!

Still, very very nice watch and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest, congrast and job well done

When the watch was presented at Baselworld, I loved it. The internet trolls started shitting on the watch. I went to the AD to discuss my Aquanaut delivery, and asked about the "Le Semainier" which is the name my AD used for it. I asked how hot is it, she said - we sold one, but it is not as difficult as the SS aquanaut.

The next couple of months have changed this I guess.

They move slowly at midnight. PP states it’s to conserve power!

I agree Russell.
But I will normally only be wearing it during office hours. So at midnight it can do want it wants!
If I want an instant jumping date I’ll go to the “dark side” (quoting my AD) and slap on Rolex!

Awesome timepiece congrats. My AD told me the 5212 is as popular as the Nautilus&Aquanaut.
