Very nice watch - this is the kind of “down to 1 watch” that I’m looking for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Checking in as I am considering something similar. Would mean me selling an AP ROC, an Omega NYC and a GS snowflake for a DD40. Would keep a couple of sentimental pieces, a vintage datejust and a speedmaster.
Also considering a Vacheron overseas as my "main" watch due to the quick change strap options. Might be worth considering for you too if you want to thin down the collection while retaining some variety, although you would lose the PM aspect a DD40 brings. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I personally would keep them. Your taste change over time and you fall out and in love with your watches. Now if you seriously think your a one watch or two then do it. I personally would keep. I still haven’t that, I need an all gold watch desire but maybe you have?
I have SkyD, Daytona, Panerai, and Breitling. I rotate them every few weeks and enjoy them very much. Best |

Quick update: still have all of them - couldn’t let any go, they’re family after all :) I guess I’ll keep on buying and the nest one will be the DD 40, probably in a few years when I turn the big 50.
It sure is nice going back to the BLNR for a few days, weeks...whatever, the world is my oyster. Then I’ll really enjoy the BLRO and so on. I’ve also always wanted a JLC reverso...maybe that’s a good next watch before the bigger investment in a DD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I had to consolidate down to two pieces, personally I would keep the beautiful white Sky Dweller and add something with a timer or chrono function, for car parks, cooking, etc. A sub would probably do it for me. I guess one of the GMT Masters you already have would also do the job.

Selling your watches is temporary insanity.
Leave then in the watch box and come back to them once you've healed. There are tons of these threads and when we read them we usually just go, '"oh, you're a one watch guy? That's nice dear." And we all look at each other knowingly. |

I would keep the SD and trade the others for a DD40.

I have that same Skyd and I too am looking to add a (YG) DD in the medium term. Amazing two watch combo IMHO. I also wear my other watches and don't sell since every watch has a special meaning to me.

Sell the watches that you don't wear and buy a second watch, the Day Date if that is what appeals, but be certain that this is the watch you want as it will be an expensive mistake to go back and resource the watches you used to have. DO NOT sell the Sky Dweller, you will miss it.

what about a gold GMT/Sub rather than DD so you still have something sporty?

Well, for starters, you're not a one watch guy. You've got four watches. So, after you've gotten rid of all the others and you're happy, then you're a one watch guy.
From my experience, I've learned to not be rash. Some decisions are hard to come back from, if not impossible. I would pick one of the other three watches as a keeper and ditch the other two. If you still feel the same way after a period of 3-6 months, then get rid of the last one. My two cents. |

if the skyd is your latest addition, I would recommend you wait and give it sometime before you make consolidation decision. The last 3 months I have been literally adding a watch each month and every new pick up becomes my fav and I can't wear anything else! but after a while I get used to it and it becomes regularly rotated.
