Tudor Big Rose Qusetions
Hello All,
I have found a Tudor Big Rose 7934 that I like the look of, and am hoping to get some advice. I have done some online searching, and cannot seem to find any pictures of the same dial style. I have heard that there were lots of variations over the years, but does this one look correct? The crown is plain, so I suspect it is a replacement? Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance. Best-DON |

The crown is definitely a replacement. Would need higher-res photos to make further jusgment, and the first few digits of the serial number.
Looks OK from this distance, but I'd be asking myself this: If the crown has been replaced so unsympathetically, what else has been done to it? |

Here's a photo of my beloved 7934 for comparison, although this is the crosshair dial version.
I even wrote a poem about how to spot a genuine one. Without doubt the nerdiest thing I've ever done. The line goes from the base of D Right between the S and T Then flush against the edge of E The markers must be old, you see The font style is important, too Pure gothic serif through and through The second hand is steely blue The rose is crisp, but far from new The dial is marked with single Swiss The hands are pointed, just like this The 3, 6, 9 are clawed - don't miss the chance to get one. Watch-nerd bliss! |

It depends on the date range. The big rose was only used for a few years in the late 50s to the very early 1960s and is one of the most faked Tudor dials next to the red ranger dial.

61 falls within the acceptable range.
