Bezel problem with ref 16750
I discovered that my gmt ref 16750 from 1980 is missing its friction ring (the one under the bezel). The watch is bought used, and the ring has been missing since before i bought it. An independent service company tried to fit it with a new ring, but when the ring is there the bezel gets too stiff and wont turn! The only way is to go without the ring (which in turn makes the bezel rotate too easily...). Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem? Maybe a whole new bezel set is needed?

Are you sure that they are using the proper friction lock spring...
You know that you must press down on the bezel to turn it when the friction washer is installed...........

I haven't actually tried myself, my watchmaker reported back to me about it.
