And they quietly introduced two new models of the 5396 with Breguet numerals at Basel for the AC's 20 year Anniversary.

I believe they are reluctantly doing something for the 40th Anniversary, but it will be underwhelming because the two pieces will likely be allocated to the larger collectors and not to the general public. I understand that some will not be happy they won't be able to get their hands on one of the LE 40th Anniv pieces. But I don't think Patek is or ever will be a watch company that caters to and appeals to a larger demographics like Rolex. I am sure within the next month or two we will find out with an official release.
I don't think there will be any limited edition models, just like there were no LE for the 30th anniversary. The 30th was the launch of the new nautilus collection. I think the 40th will be maybe a new model, maybe retire a current model (eg 5980), and possibly a refresh of the 5711. Can't wait to see what Patek has planned though.

Guys there are definitely two new special models being launched for the anniversary. This was confirmed to me by a senior source at PP during a factory visit a few months ago. I am not sure on hiw limited the production will be.

I don't think a 5711P with leather straps as a LE piece would be out of the question as IIRC Patek has released LE platinum Nautilus timepieces in the past, at least with the 3800 and I believe with the 3700 as well.

Agree and don't think they are LE

LE's are great if you are lucky enough to get one, and suck if you can't get one or if you have to pay a huge premium, I understood I would never get one, so I'm for 2 new models, not certain I will want one but we'll see...

If they are introducing new models will they discontinue existing ones to compensate for the addition? Patek probably won't let the Nautilus get out of hand with too many models available right?

Well Thierry Stern said, if I remember correctly, that he didn't want to make too many SS models, as it is not what Patek is about, so if they introduce a new SS model they would need to remove one, if they introduce a gold or platinum model then they might not discontinue one, but I don't think they would introduce a Nautilus in PM and not in SS.

My guess if they discontinue one, they will stop the 5990 or 5726, I don't believe the 5990 has a lot of interest for clients, and same for the 5726.

The 5711 might get a tuning, the 5712 has a lot of different metal variations, so I don't think any of these will be discontinued, especially the 5711 is the original, they might make slight changes, would love a frame for the date window and a bluer dial, that would be awesome...

I recall hearing a rumour that the 5712 may be discontinued but then again, have heard this a year or so back as well so don't think it'll happen.

Let's see - not too long now..

All of the Nautuli need clasps worthy of the PP name...imo
For the anny, if they updated the clasp it would be enough...for me.

Suits me fine if they do as I own one and the prices will go up, but I doubt it, with the 5711 it's the Naut which has the most Naut DNA

To be honest the clasp might be not super but the watch is incredibly comfy with this clasp, better clasps are usually less comfy

True, but I prefer much more such a clasp to the old Rolex clasps or the old Nautilus ones, which were basically the same as the Rolex ones, now those are really crappy...

I wonder is a 5712P is in the works? strap or leather i think it would be interesting.

Also since platinum is a heavier material the 5711P clasp might be less "finicky" don't you think? still prefer the clasp's low profile though.

The Nautilus clasp does not bother me at all. In fact I like it, totally elegant in looks and hardly noticeable.

Do you think so? I find it incredibly easy.

I personally like the clasp. Sure it's basic, but compare the thickness to a rolex oyster clasp.

Aquanaut sensible...Rolex understandable...Nautilus incomprehensible!

So is it now almost for certain/ confirmed they'll announce on the 15th? thought it was all hearsay but with the date fast approaching figure they must be making some more formal confirmation?

I agree that unclasping a Nautilus bracelet is harder than the equivalent for an Aquanaut or a deployant clasp. Perhaps they can improve this on future models. However I like the slimness of the bracelet.

I wear it all the time, it is very comfortable and works perfectly. No issues clasping it or unclamping it. Not sure what everyone is suffering through.
