Makes complete sense--those of us in the US appreciate PP looking out for us :-)

Don't worry as someone mentioned, you can buy from US AD if you live overseas (PM Karl, seems he has the inside scoop).

You can buy on secondary.

Or you can wait until Basel 2018...you never know what PP might do

That is a very reasonable and welcome price point. Still wouldn't buy the watch but I like the price.

Ooohhh!!!! It's 42mm!!!! It just went up 6 notches on the likability scale! Love that Patek is looking out for us larger guys with the larger watches.

New Release: Patek Philippe 5522A Limited Edition Pilot's Watch

I saw it on CNBC this morning and am guessing it will be a future for PP to explore - maybe other SS options like "tool" watches. It puzzles me since they aren't a high volume production watchmaker like Swatch, Richemont, Rolex.

But it could backfire if the loyalists who pay from $75K-upward for PP's are put off the brand.

We all pretty much love the Nautilus but the design is quite polarising, esp for non PP owners like Rolex owners, who prefer a conventional round dial but don't want a pure dress watch. I think this could take a lot of business at this price point. If this is going to be tricky to get worldwide then we could have the Nautilus Hunger Games Mk 2, the last bloody thing we need, they should just have it on normal release.

Don't see it doing that (look at 5711 and 5167 SS)...but I do see it bringing more into PP brand potentially.

I think you might see more lower price point pieces at Basel 2018...we shall see.

Just contacted my AD. With that price I had to bite.

What do you guys think about the 5230 WT?

Have to see it in person but could be a great daily "beater".

How long did it take for PP to deliver the london pieces? Were they end of year or ready on release?

Congrats on the 5522. I'd say no on the world time, i like the RG version without the NY skyline more but not really a fan of world time watches so maybe I'm not the best person to take advice from.
How was your visit to the west coast AD's?

Thanks, Martin. Keeping my fingers crossed for the 5522 (he will order but can't guarantee anything). I like yours better but too good of a price to pass this one up.

I am going to Bay Area beginning of August but will visit Kerns

I am a WT fan...I think any skyline is infinitely more interesting than a bunch of circles and barley guilloche. However not sure it's compelling enough to buy it

A bit disappointing it's for the US only, but it is what it is. Although it's a nice watch, it's not like it's the best thing Patek has ever done and the rest of the world is missing out on an incredible watch. I prefer the regular production 5524.

If an US member helps, I would like to order one as I have no connection to any US AD at all.

Congrats. After thinking it over I think we'll be pleasantly surprised. 21K, steel, and a 600 LE Patek would be hard to pass up if available.

That was my thought. I still haven't heard back yet from my AD who ended up emailing their buyer whom I presume is at the event.

Yes, that was the gist of the CNBC piece. And the huge spread in the upper and lower priced models.

CNBC was doing a live interview of the PP USA rep who showed several pieces. I'm not sure what's wrong with that?

Did you see it live?

I don't think I've ever seen so many people putting their name down for a watch on day 1. Seems like Patek have hit the sweet spot with this one.
