This deal with the certificates and shipping boxes is insanity. You pay for it and it's yours, period. The certificate could say bozo the clown it would still be the same watch. Why does Patek waste time with this stuff? It's not like AD's are dumping Pateks, greys sell them for about the same price as the AD so how is Patek damaged? And now we find out that going to the exhibition gets you points as far as being approved to buy one. Ridiculous. My AD invited me to an Exhibition get together but told me since I'd be in Geneva in October to skip it!

Yes, very much so :)

I agree 100%.

Patek USA is quite different from Patek UK. The collectors are different and the market is different. It is quite possible for Patek UK to vet through all the applications for the watch and decide who to allocate the watches to.

However with close to 100 ADs in the US, I doubt HSWA will spend the time reviewing thousands of applications to select 600 people. They will trust the ADs to do the allocation and give a number of watches to the ADs based on previous sales volume of each AD.

22k minus the 40% ad takes times 600 watches is about 8 million bucks. It's not worth their time to micromanage the process. Not enough cheese down the tunnel for patek.

Ad submits names- they look at sales figures- you get a watch, you get 3 watches. As disburses them. It ain't that complicated folks

My AD just told me that I was selected to receive one of the watches. He also said that my name and information would come pre-printed on the paperwork.

For the record, he stated that that they submitted a list and Patek selected the recipients.

I never got my brown transport box with my latest purchase- I truly felt that the world has cone to the end!!! As mentioned it's a free market- you don't like conditions imposed by PP on the sales (papers / box) just move to another brand

Congrats on being the first to get an official notification for the order!

I'm waiting on my new (hopeful) AD for an order of two watches including this one. If I'm not one of the chosen then I'll have to reconsider beginning a Patek collection.

For those in the club, were you initially faced with a dilemma to buy a Patek or two that you didn't want before being allowed to purchase your preferred models?

In case it doesn't work out for you we can work a trade. My 5522 for your 5711P. Clearly with this being more limited, 600 vs 700 on the P, and in the noble Patek steel, you'd be foolish not to accept my gracious offer

Well, they might decide to do this if it makes service times just that little bit longer.

That will make for a great rotation!

It's a long shot but since there probably will be some who receive more than one... If there are any fine gents (or ladies) in these parts of TRF willing to do a kind gesture like Dr. Tom with his Daytona C, please send me a PM! No rare Pateks to trade but I can promise Patek pics from the cockpit and chase car for the forum!
