Panerai straps 24x24 vs 24x22
Hi, just polling everyone's opinion on preference between 24x24 vs 24x22mm straps. Please explain why?
Most aftermarket straps are 24x24 but the OEM is 24x22. What's the reasoning behind the difference in size? Thank you. |

A good question. I have one 24x24 and as commented on in Jocke's post recently re 26x22 Vs 26x26, the none tapered straps wear quite differently - larger.
I personally don't like the none tapered ones, they look too much like a cuff on your wrist. There's a reason Panerai seem to now do all straps tapered, when in the past many 47s were supplied with none tapered... As for why many strap maker makers do none tapered I'm sure they can quote heritage specification but I think it's as much just for simplicity of manufacture. Any bespoke I order I always get tapered but most sell none tapered as a default. Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk |

I think it depends on the strap.... a casual or ammo? Non-tapered. Dressier strap/gator? Tapered.
