My similar model (R150533 from 1987) has "differences" with the lume dots, Rolex <dial> crown, and at least one of the dial texts.
And I question aspects of the engine-turned bezel. The machining is FAR different compared to mine (which I bought new at an AD.) However I am no expert. Were I you, I would do more research. We are not supposed to discuss "specifics" of fakes, so I am pointing out issues I see without "too" much detail. I hope this is acceptable to the moderators/admins. Just trying to help a member as much as I can. I suggest you look up "that items" specific model number on the internet and make some direct comparisons. I would have done that for you, but you did not supply it.

Looks ok to me. Bezel and all. Is this a mid-early 80's model. Can you provide other information? |

Here's one similar to the one you are looking at:
https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-da...ned-bezel.html The watch does need a very good cleaning and take into account a service as well.. |

Here’s the thing. It was a common practice among jewellers and dealers to swap out dials, hands, bezels etc to suit a customer’s preferences. So it can be extraordinarily difficult to determine whether these watches are the same as when they left the factory.
These changes do not have much effect on value/price. The big questions are whether the swaps are genuine Rolex replacements, and whether you like the way that the watch may have ended up. I am not a huge expert on these, but I have a few, and don’t see any concerns with this one. |

You can find a better piece at that price point. Check the TRF classifieds.

You need to have the case-back removed and VERIFY that this watch has a genuine Rolex movement.
Do not buy blind without getting proper information.

So which price do you suggest is fair for this piece in the current market?
1601/1603s are going for 4k usd and pushing up to 4.5k usd for special dials/better bracelet etc. So a 16030 can't really go under that 4.5k usd. It can, but the market really won't. |

I would think $4.5 -5k would be about right.

We're not supposed to discuss prices, but, I agree with Chris - 4k Euro would be fair for that particular example
The lugs are not great, and the rest of the case shows "character". Which is fine, until some hooligan watchmaker tries to polish out those dings (and they will) Factor in 500 for a service, and you can see where we're coming from. I own two Rolex's, the one in my avatar, and an '88 16030 with a black face, my every day beater. So I tend to keep up with specific watch prices The prices advertised are invariably a reflection of what someone will pay for it - not what the watch is actually worth For that watch, 4k Euro is a fair price, have it serviced, and wear it - battle scars and all Otherwise - wait for the next one - they are not exactly "rare" ...... |

Some interesting currency conversions…
I think a fair price would be around $5500 Canadian dollars, so a little over $4K USD. Plus or minus a few hundred. OP, please don’t forget to factor in duty and sales tax if it’s coming from outside Canada. The way things are going, it’s very hard to lose money on these if you keep them for a couple of years. |

Anyone selling this watch for $4k, I'll take them all... this watch is not as overpriced as people think... the heads alone are selling close to $4k plus that is a premium dial and it comes with paperwork... $5200 definitely has a small premium added, likely because of the papers and dial are hard to find on these plastic quickset models, but this watch will probably be wholesaling at that price within a year or 2 anyway...

$5500 Canadian is about $4400 USD.
There are certainly asking prices at $6K CDN and higher, and I suppose that means some folks are paying that much. The $6500 ask on this one is too high. But as some have said, these won’t get less expensive. So, get a decent deal, wear it in good health, and check the market every so often for a pleasant surprise. |

And in regards to price if I have to disagree with you. Jvmartin said it as well. 4 and 5 digit doubled in price and they are actually moving for those prices. You can go to any shop or private seller and tell them you have to be sure and you have to take into account a 500 usd/euro service but they don't care. Either you take it or leave it. I would love to buy a 4 or 5 digit DJ, nice thick case and lugs, perfect bracelet for 4k usd or euro but I haven't found one. |
