First time flying in 20 months.

I deal primarily with China and Europe for work and COVID has kept me home compared to a typical year of 6-10 trips. Heading to Portugal in a few hours and looking forward to another step toward normal. Trying to avoid China until quarantine requirements are lifted but may go in January regardless.

This is the first of 3 EU trips before the end of the year. Just me an my 39mm Explorer. Had to get to the airport early to sort out some docs so just hanging out at the Sky Club.

Is beer or vodka best to wash down Xanax?

Better to go with the vodka or you’ll find yourself needing to use the restroom on the plane.

Have a great trip

My wife and are in Italy, our first trip since May of 2019. Things have gone very smoothly for us and as long as you have your vaxx documentation in order, travel is really no different than before.

Good point. Only 7 hours or so DTW to Amsterdam. I can do that without getting out of the seat.

Definitely hard liquor w Xanax. You’ll be drooling on yourself in no time and out for 10hrs. Good way to squander first class haha.

Whatever you drink or eat, make sure it goes down easily.....cause if it goes down the wrong way and you start coughing or hacking.......you're gonna get a lot of accusatory stares.

And maybe made to sit in the washroom for the rest of the flight.

Pilot's parents are 1 row behind me and just paid him a visit in the cockpit. I asked them if he was any good...all they said is he wanted to get home. Seemed a little evasive but I'll take it.

Cool, maybe you'll get there on time.

Every time I fly they say we arrived early then the pilot has to drive up and down the airport highways looking for a good parking spot and that takes 30 minutes.

Don't forget to share the Xanax with the guys up front. Some of the pilots haven't flown in a year either.

A friend of mine just got back in the sim and was amazed how much he can't fly anymore.

The pilot actually just came back to talk to Mom and Dan and they announced it was his (the pilot) last trip before retirement. I think that's what he said...he was kind of slurring his words.

Nice - Enjoy! You’ve chosen a great ‘under the radar’ watch for the trip. I’ve got the same one and always enjoy wearing it when travelling.

Depending on how long stay, but my favs are usually is trying to get to the local time ahead of traveling, sporting a GMT at all times. That usually does the trick, and a drink to much once traveling eastward, or partying up the evening with friends...or just staying up till 10p once going West...

Time change rarely bothers me, even China that is 12 hours off my home base currently. I think I nodded off for a few minutes during a TEAMS meeting today but that's about it. I am anti-date window, anti-cyclops so no GMT for me. I get people liking them but I never felt the need.

Running around Lisbon in a borrowed VW something or other wagon...but the Explorer classes it up. I like coffee that needs a fork.
