Not so much good news but just an image that made me smile.

Hadn’t worn sub in a while. Picked it up and it needed to be wound of course. My three year old said “daddy I like the vacation watch.” He noticed it wasn’t wound, took out the crown and starting winding. Then he was fascinated by watching the hands go round and round at his control. I watched for like 5 minutes and took dozens of pics, my wife was watching with a grin :)

That’s outstanding!! I’m amazed a 3yr old knows how to get the crown out and work the mechanics of it. Thanks for sharing!!

Just read a news article about a Gadsden County (Fla) Sheriffs Deputy that was shot 3 times during a chase Wednesday. She made it out of surgery and is projected to be home within a week. If that wasn’t enough, this shooting happened in front of an occupied home, the man (72) and his wife who lived there brought the deputy into their home and provided CPR until an off duty deputy made it to the house, loaded her in his cruiser and transported her to the hospital. These people likely saved this young woman’s life. The icing on the cake from such a tragic story that came out Wednesday is the deputies mother was gifted a check for $1000 from the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Assoc “lend a hand” program. This is the first of probably many checks to help pay for extra expenses during her recovery.

For such a tragic beginning to the story I’m sitting here brought to tears at how compassionate this couple was and how the LEO community cares for their own as well as the public.

Nice. Reminds me of the undeveloped/protected side of the Loxahatchee River. You could canoe right up to gator nests (not recommended btw) bald eagles and manatees.
Very much under-appreciated both in its beauty and complexity.

It’s not good news he passed, however this young man had an incredible outlook on life (I think we all could learn from) despite fighting against the odds for 14 yrs. so today I’m celebrating him. Rest In eternal peace Eric, you have motivated so many more than you ever knew. Including myself.

As some of you already know, a dog showed up on our farm about a month ago, running for his life from our donkey.

We tried for two weeks to find his owners, not realizing he had already found them.
