At least CA has a strong power grid for all their residents to recharge each night. Plus, I’m sure all the small(ish) batteries will be eco-friendly from a manufacturing and disposal perspective.

Actually our infrastructure is quite bad. During heat waves we have mandates where owners of EVs aren’t allowed to charge their cars overnight and these last for days.

I got a set of battery powered Stihl equipment nearly 10 years ago, it all works, had to get new batteries last year. Maybe they're not as powerful as the gas operated ones, but certainly around 90% or so, the headache is zero, the maintenance the same and it all works (still). So I hope we can all move forward and keep our neighbors sane...I even got a Stihl lawn robot mower and its working perfectly fine, had to replace some wheels after 3 years and the blade anually, but it saves on lawn maintenance, the guys don't have to drive all the trucks over , I don't get any diseases or other seeds carried in, it's super quite and actually entertaining to watch, super quite. The future is here...

Unless you have very big areas to cover, rechargeable-battery powered tools are so much more convenient than 2-stroke petrol-powered stuff. I could never get my new petrol chainsaw to start and eventually gave it away. Bought an electric one - starts every time.
Love my rechargeable-battery leaf blower. Not noisy and blows like crazy (I am not one of the inconsiderate people who just blows all their rubbish on to the street or someone elses property) I mainly use it to blow the dust out of the garages.

There's a couple companies making zero turn battery mowers. Logic and progress. Air and noise pollution to move around leaves is pretty stupid when (if) you think about it.

I remember raking leaves when I was young. That worked just fine and also was a bit of exercise.

I work in Landscape construction. Every time I pick up a 22v, 36v, 56v rechargeable battery tool I feel it is safer, more reliable as well as often quieter and cleaner. This change is inevitable. I don't know why this has to be about who you vote for.

Nobody has this strong an infrastructure for all the charging requirements. Maybe the power companies could actually provide the amount, but their residential distribution infrastructure couldn’t handle the amount of power they will eventually need to EVs and battery everything.

A two strike gas engine puts as much air pollution into our air in just a couple hours as the average American’s car does in a week. For this reason alone I support this move.

For me, the real benefit would be my neighbor’s yard guy not waking me up with that damn high pitched whine at 7:15 every Saturday morning.
