Are any countries or regions better supplied?

I have heard it’s difficult to buy a Rolex, especially a SS but really ANY Rolex, from an AD at MSRP. Hmm…. How strange….

ANYWAY…….

Since we have a world-wide forum here, and from what I understand NOWHERE is like the old days (multiple models available at ADs at MSRP or even a discount), but is there ANYWHERE that is better then the rest of the world? I am curious about China, the Middle East and of course, Switzerland. Are we all in this together?

I sincerely think we in the US are the best positioned in terms of supply, apart from maybe China. There’s just too much demand in these countries already, and the countries where demand is slightly subdued, conversely the supply is also much tighter.

In summary, it’s the same everywhere.

This seems like a hard question to answer, since I would imagine many ADs have a preference towards local buyers. So unless people are spending equal time in two or more geographies, it seems like it would be difficult.

With that said, I’ve had an opportunity to travel a bit recently to other geographies (a lot more pre-COVID), and also have family that live in other geographies and have asked them to try to pick up watches for me without success. I’m in the US, and have tried various parts of Europe and Asia.

Short story - seems like it’s the same everywhere.

Same everywhere pretty much.
If somewhere did have anything available, they’d still keep it out the back for preferred local clients.

Here in Thailand, it's pretty much impossible to find anything at an AD. Even ladies Datejust are sold out.

The Rolex store in Monte Carlo next to the casino is probably the best supplied Rolex store.

Also, I was in Liechtenstein last week and they had some surprisingly good availability of DJs and OPs:

I only took 1 picture but between the 2 Rolex stores there were about 50 Rolex watches for sale.

I saw a Blue dial DJ with Jubilee bracelet, a steel/gold DJ on oyster, a DD40 with diamond bezel and a TT Daytona, which someone was just buying. Over all I was impressed with what was for sale.

They said they had received stocks for Christmas and usually there would be a hundred tourists lining up outside (even the Rolex signboard outside was in Chinese) but now due to Omicron it was unusually quiet.

It’s definitely the best selection I’ve seen at any Rolex store over the past 2 years.

Same problem everywhere in the world. I was recently in London and it's obviously got supply issues there but it's also the same here in the Middle East.

Imagine, largest Rolex store in the world (Dubai Fashion Avenue) and nothing but 28mm lady datejusts...it's so depressing.

Seems like Spain (Madrid) has a pretty good supply/low demand for some reason. My buddy was able to order and reserve a blue datejust with fluted bezel and a root-beer gmt over the last few years (he visits Madrid once a year). He calls the AD directly and puts in the orders 1-2 months before he visits each time.

On the other hand Japan (Tokyo) is terrible for supply — we can’t even get added to an AD waitlist here.

Spain has a good supply/demand ratio, it is fairly easy to get almost anything with a short waiting time.
