New IPHONE 12 soon to be announced

AT&T has what seems to be a great offer on the new Iphone 12’s, giving $800 credit for any RAM size Iphone 8 or newer as long as it is in working conditions and is worth more than $95 for them (they have a formula for that).

I have the 11 Pro 256GB (pretty mint) and the new features of the 12 Pro are appealing (better camera, battery, 5G, better screen resistance, among other things). The 12 Pro 256GB is $1100 so for $300 plus tax and a $40 fee can get one through that offer. Anyone upgrading with the AT&T offer? Would an upgrade from 11 Pro to 12 Pro would make sense for about $400 ?

It’s $549. Don’t ask me why. I bought a case on amazon for 10 bucks and you can’t tell the difference.

That’s steep bro. It is considered Other iPhone repairs. I love the $10 fix

If you are not a wireless carrier jumper, then the AT&T trade-in program deal is well worth it.

https://www.apple.com/shop/browse/ov.../iphone_12_pro

Get up to $800* in bill credits after eligible trade-in of iPhone 8 or newer.
Get up to $350 in bill credits after eligible trade-in of iPhone 6s through iPhone 7 Plus.

FYI, the trade-in credit up to $800 is applied over 30 months, which means you must select the AT&T Installment Plan to take advantage of the deal.

I am doing it with two lines on my plan. Handing down my 11 Pro to my wife and using her 8 to trade for 12 Pro for me. My son is trading in his X for a 12.

I have found instead of all the gimmicks the cell carriers play just buy unlocked, sell used on eBay. You will come out ahead.

I am an Apple freak so each year (unless it is just an “s” release) I get the new phone. My current phone goes to the wife, wife to one of the kids etc. The last phone in the line is usually 4-5 years old and beleive it or not a great condition kept phone goes for pretty good money on eBay. I keep all the boxes, we always use screen protectors and cases from new etc.

I generally don't get too huffy about phone releases but with a 3 year old X that's fading on battery life and an AT&T customer I'm probably going to look into this.

I bought the 8 a year or so ago after having the 6SE die on me.

I'll probably trade it in for the mini when it's available and then stop whining about the size, since I doubt it will ever get any smaller.

I'm sure I can find other shit to whine about, although the smoke has finally cleared, the wine crop was a disaster, the temps are down to where they belong, Hawaii just opened, BUT I can't play hockey and Covid is still here, and my coffee is cold dammit...... so.......

Same thing Eric, my three year old X is showing its age (and it’s abuse from me). Luckily, I qualified for a great deal from Verizon, hardly paying anything and I ordered a 12 pro.

What’s the deal lol and will you fix my merely cracked back glass?

Why on earth is the back of the phone glass anyways other than to screw over people trading in lol

I am the same way. I always buy the phone out right and sell private party when I upgrade. Usually recoup $500-700 on the sale of the phone and that just offsets the new phone.

Trade value is ALWAYS lower. This is true for phones as it is for cars and everything else. It is much easier to sell a phone private party than it is a car (people emailing you to kick tires, test drive, etc... always a hassle for car transactions)

Well I was checking online and an AT&T locked Iphone 11 Pro 256GB is not worth $800 anywhere I checked, so seems to be an exception to the rule above. I do not intent to switch carriers so don’t mind getting a new Iphone 12 pro locked into AT&T network.

Yeah - these credits I believe are in the form of a monthly credit to your account? Which works if you're not looking to be locked into the network. I prefer to have freedom to do whatever I want when it comes to network so don't mind the marginal cost for that liberty.

I use Google Fi... was super handy when my wife and I took a several month travel sabbatical last year :D

I think that some of the larger ones can be used as a surf board.

Good call. With an undersea camera......wait wait, what was I thinking.

They'd flip it and do selfies.

Went swimming with an iphone xs max. It broke fwiw. It was ok for about 10 minutes not as long as youtubers and ratings led me to believe.

Interestingly enough I cracked the glass on my iPhone 11 Pro and it cannot be replaced - only the front glass can be replaced. So they used my Apple Plus coverage and gave me a new phone.

Looking forward to picking up the 12 Pro on Friday.

New IPHONE 12 soon to be announced

Am still undecided on upgrading from an 11 Pro; anyone here with that model doing the upgrade and if so what are the major advantages? Perhaps should wait for a future version with the 120 HZ screen refresh rate?

I actually decided to buy the 11Pro a few months ago rather than wait for the 12 simply because I knew the 5g rollout in my neck of the woods for probably 4-5 years.

Other than the new blue color, nothing on the 12 excites me.

Same here - making the switch - 5G, camera, and screen quality were the deciding factors for me. My net cost to make the switch was around $450. Considering how much I use it - it's well worth it.

I'm buying the factory unlocked iPhone 12 Pro Max 128GB. Paying in full.

I'll be keeping my existing XS Max as a spare/backup phone.
