Anyone else itching to buy gold?

Gold prices are through the roof and our dollar is devaluing daily due to trillions being printed out. Not just to use gold as a safe haven but with the high value suddenly want to buy more gold jewelry (necklaces, bracelet, rings, etc)

Am i the only one trying to pickup the Mr. T starter-pack?

You will be paying too much. Jewelry Premiums are too high and the market will settle back down to when Gold has been trading over the last few years in short order.

I can’t predict gold futures or I’d be many billion ahead already. But I can tell you that buying jewelry is a losing prop.

Buy biscuits or bars if you must for a physical hoard. Jewelry you lose big time. Flight to bullion will continue for a while imo.

While I agree somewhat, I’d say it depends on your reason for owning precious metals. Yes, as an investment, you want to buy as low as low as possible. However, as a hedge, I feel it’s always worth it to maintain your BUYING POWER. If you e been buying for decades, then you’ve been benefiting from both scenarios.

Jewelry, definitely not I'd say. The mark up on jewelry based on the amount of gold is used compared to a bullion is at least 130-150% I believe. Unless you're buying the jewelries at a steep discount, you're better off buying gold and silver bullions

An 1807 DD bracelet sold on eBay yesterday for almost exactly the value of its gold only. That made me kind of sad, since it will probably get melted down and leaves one less bracelet for a classic DD watch lover to pair back together with an 1807.

Full 180x watches (watch + gold bracelet) will be harder and harder to come by over time.

when gold spiked to 1800 before the same thing happened, loads of 4 digit DD's were melted down. I almost bought a 60's DD with b&P for 6k at the time. probably should've done it. lol
