1601 yellow gold - is It possible to fit Presidential bracelet?

Hello,

I came across this yellow gold 1601 - it’s in pretty rough condition. The crystal is bad and the 18k on the back has probably been polished so many times it’s gone. Anyways, I cannot find this ANYWHERE online, what end links from a presidential band will fit the 1601?

The way I understand It is 1803 bracelet had 53 end links which will maybe fit ok?
18038 bracelet had 55 end links which don’t fit as good cause it’s a larger thickness?

Any info on this is greatly appreciated.

I have a 1601 and a Jubilee with 53s; my advice is to try a different bracelet or at least endlinks. I managed to MAKE it fit but IMO those endlinks simply aren't for that watch (I got mine from a 1013 which it DID fit, I think that bracelet might have been put on at purchase sixty years ago). My President has the same 53s and it fits my 1803 head perfectly but I haven't tried it on my 1601 nor will I (WG vs YG).

Crown Collection says the correct bracelet is 6311. I believe him, but I haven't heard from anyone what endlinks might fit.

You could be literally the only person on the internet to help me!!

Ok so you actually own a 1601 and an 1803. Does it look like your 1803 president band with 53 end links will approximately fit on to your 1601?

I have been looking online for weeks no info, but I see so many 1601 on presidents for sale (likely with those italian president aftermarket bands)
If you ever have time to take your band off your 1803 and just see if its kind of snug on your 1601 id love you eternally <3

Regardless of whether it fits or not, a President bracelet is incorrect for a Datejust. The President is for Day-Date watches.

You need a Jubilee or an Oyster bracelet for a Datejust.

Older 6311 has 55
Newer 90’s. 6311. Has 49b

Thank you VERY MUCH, David in Australia! Now the hunt begins - for 55s in YG, and for someone to attach the darn things to my bracelet! If anyone out there is thinking, "Gosh I wish I could attach a Jubilee to my YG 1803, it's a pity my own Jubilee has these 55 endlinks, if only there was someone to trade with", please drop me a line, thanks.

Hi All,

Does someone know why some YG 1601 with jubilee bracelets have 53 end links, like this one https://lunaroyster.com/product/1975...v=79cba1185463

I am considering buying a full set YG 1601 in perfect conditions but it comes with these end links which I did not expect. Is there any chance it came like this from the factory or has it been certainly altered?

Many thanks
