Had to steal pictures online cause I am abroad but eager to participate.

I'll post a picture when I get them. The way this particular Kudu was tanned it really has great character in my opinion. I forget exactly why Patrik said the tannery was no longer tanning them this way anymore, but at least for now know one is able to get any more Kudu that has been tanned the same way.

The Mailman was very good to me today. G&G Ishams in Rosewood Kudu on the MH71 Last. Overall more sleek throughout the entire shoe and a bit more refined than my EG Dovers in Mahogany CC. I'm extremely happy with how these turned out.

Do you have anything in Iguana by the way? I have been thinking lately of getting a pair of boots with Iguana upper, maybe in dark blue/blackish. I am curious of how soft and durable it is.

I don't, but then again I don't really have that much with regards to what one might consider exotic. So far besides calf it's either cordovan, elephant, lizard, Kudu or Antelope, Russian Calf, and Zug which is calf. But that about covers it.

Elephant Skin Lucchese. Expensive but the most comfortable boots I own.

Although not British very nice.

In fact I have a pair quite like those as well. These are also Lucchesse and Elephant also.

I have a pair of 1883's in goat. My most comfortable boots.

Lucchesse are pretty nice. If wore cowboy boots more often I probably would have gone elsewhere however. I've seen some other shoemakers that have made some very interesting boots, but I just don't wear them enough that I was willing to spend that much for a pair.

Mine are worn around cows. And we know what comes out of cows. The higher end leathers wouldn't be as desirable for this application.

Actually I wasn't even talking exotics although the leather itself would have been better quality and your right I wouldn't want to subject $1500 to $2500 boots to that kind of treatment. Of course I'm well aware at even that amount there are ones which cost even much more to include some from Lucchesse.

Well true they aren't British but I love those boots. The are actually packed up to go get resoled and reconditioned. I can't wait to get them back.

I am just changing from fall/winter boots to spring/summer boots and took a picture of the boots I wear daily. Only three pairs are British, the winter boots. In the top row you have Bonafe, Gaziano & Girling, Edward Green and Crocket & Jones. In the lower row Carmina, Bonafe and Viberg. They are between 5 years and 1 week old. The only pair I didn't try before I bought is the Vibergs but thanks to Dans excellent advice they fit perfectly.

hard to go past trickers , but ,,, i bought a pair of regent shoes recently , and at about half the price of trickers im seriously impressed , commando sole , goodyear welted and change from 250 sterling , fantastic leather in both look and feel , they are my work shoes of choice at the moment.
worthy of a look. hope that helps someone , they make all the officers shoes for the british army , or used to, from memory.

Some of the best names in shoemaking and boots right there. pretty hard if not impossible to do any better that that.

Glad to hear the advice on the Vibergs worked. For that type of boot they're the absolute best in my opinion.

Thank you, living within walking distance from Skoaktiebolaget and a C&J dealer helps.

Before Skoaktiebolaget opened I had a hard time finding proper boots and shoes that fit at all. With the possibility of making an MTO with a last that fits perfectly and a style you like is great! I might slow down my buying and restrict it to only one pair/year now. Next in line is a St Crispin 403s in blue probably. I walk about 1.5k miles per year outdoors(to work) and I need proper footwear.

I've slowed down as well. I've got one more in the pipeline but after that no immediate plans.

You'll see that with a number of colors, really kind of cool actually.

Nice color.
My G&Gs in the pictures earlier in the thread also change color from almost black to deep red.

The rug, is it Nain? I have forgotten most I knew about persian rugs since moving from home 25 years ago, my father has a really nice Nain rug and some silk Ghom and Isfahan rugs too. The rug under my shoes is from Isfahan.

Heads up to anyone interested in the English shoes at Brooks Brothers....

It looks like the Friends and Family discount (25%) works with the Edward Green and Peal & Co. offerings. I have only had it work one time a couple of years ago and the boots I wanted were gone in my size at that time.

I have just picked up these at a decent price, given the cordovan price increases as of late...

Great choice, Congrats, Outstanding Boot!!!

Crockett and Jones makes an awesome boot.

Do keep in mind however that their Cordovan is notoriously dry. I use Saphir neutral cordovan cream however and this tends to help a great deal.
