Seiko SKX007

Is it just me or is the SKX007 a great watch?!

I found myself looking at the watch and thinking, "I really do like this watch"

I have been waiting 9 months now for the call, but I decided that I am going to enjoy this watch while I continue to wait for my first Rolex.

I still wear one regularly, and have to admit, it's amazing how cheap they can make a mechanical watch.

If it's just you, then it's just me, too!
Mine is the SKX009, their version of a "pepsi" bezel.
Amazing watch for $200.
Looks great on the OEM diver strap, a NATO strap, or the Seiko jubilee, which is a bargain at $30. And not sure if you know but it's also an infinitely modifiable watch, and there is a huge sub-culture of Seiko modifiers, one of the most well-known being "Yobokies", which is Seiko Boy spelled backwards:)

It's alright. The stock rubber sucks (easy fix), chapter ring is never aligned from the factory, and it's annoying that it can't be hand-wound or hacked (without using the ghetto crown method) to set the time. But hey, for about $180 new, you can't really complain. Pretty good value if you were in the market for a beater.

Probably the best $200 you can spend on a watch

Get an oyster bracelet for it and you’ll never look back! I still miss mine. Gave it to my buddy who currently drives it daily

There's something very satisfying about the average run of the mill Seiko divers.
One should probably have a variant in every collection.

Pity about the rubber straps though.

I like the fact that the new movement can be retrofitted into a watch that previously had a 7S26 movement when the time comes.
That's a very thoughtful move on the part of Seiko

I actually like the OEM rubber dive strap. I bought a "high end" oyster bracelet for it, and didn't care for it for some reason. I think I'll buy an OEM jubilee though.

The rubber is great imo. I just ordered a blue nato for it from Blushark. Excited to see how it looks.

Have both SKX007J and SKX009J on rubber with Seiko super oysters and super jubilees to change them up. Probably best "bang for buck" in my collection!

yeah, I have a SKX009 tucked away. I wore it daily for a year or more, it's an amazing watch for the money and if I couldn't afford my Rolex I could live happily with an SKX.

I put mine on Zulu or leather straps and I replaced the stock bezel with a Murphy bezel which removed the cheapest feeling part of the watch in my oppinion. For $250 with the upgraded bezel and a zulu strap, it's an amazing watch!

75% of a Rolex at 3% of the price. The SKX is a big bang for the buck. I gave mine to my best friend who cares little about watches, and he wears it every day.

My only knock against Seiko is the misaligned chapter ring in so many of their watches. That drives me up a tree.

I can't get past the 4oc crown location. Great lume and reliable though.

I think I have one of these. Does it not allow you to wind the watch manually but only by the rotor while wearing it or is mine broken?

No, the 009 has a dark blue dial.

I'm a big Seiko SKX fan, they remind me in some way of vintage Rolex, matte dial no-nonsense tool watches.
I own a 007 and a smaller 013, might add a 009j as well.

Only watch i wear and not care about scratching, banging or have my children battering it.
A diver with day date function (), single red () and automatic. What is not to like in it? I added an oyster look bracelet and upgraded its looks too.
Mine says hi!
