Help me Identify this Watch???
Any help in advance is appreciated. I do not have a tool to open the case back unfortunately. This was my grandfathers watch and I think it’s a cool design. It is gold plated it seems. There aren’t many marks other then what’s pictured. My question is from about what year, and what model? I know it’s probably all speculation until the movement is opened but any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't help you with the exact model number unfortunately, but mine is a 166.0216 with a 1022 movement I believe. It looks to be the same era as your Grandfathers, late 70's I think.
I hope that gets the ball rolling. |

Following my previous post, it could be a 166.099 or a 366.0832 and maybe early 70's.
I am sure someone else will know better than me however. |

^ Thank you for those model suggestions. Your watch looks great by the way.
Do you think the 73 on the clasp have anything to do with the year of production?

Thanks. I don't know but I would hazard a guess that's its not related to the date of manufacture. Although it does seem coincidental.

Your probably right just coincidental. Any other Omega geniuses with any further input?

That looks amazingly similar to the Rolex OysterQuartz. Sort of an amalgamation of the solid gold day-date, and the mechanical movement 1530.

Just go to a local watch maker and have him open it up. You'll never know for sure with Omega. The ref will be engraved inside the caseback.

The reference number is stamped on the case back.
166.0099. And the 33 million serial number would indicate a year of 1971. But I think it was not unusual for the movement to be case a couple of years after being produced back then. |

Any info from the pics on the movement? I think I saw number 1480, is that a movement reference?
