The Watch bracelet repair company?

I'm thinking about having my stretched jubilee bracelet tightened on my GMT master 16700 and have been quoted £350 plus vat by Joe from the watch bracelet repair company in Crawley.
Has anyone used them and any reviews?

Definitely worth checking out given the convenience of not having to send it halfway around the world. Removing stretch is just removing and replacing the wasted pins that connect the links. I can't imagine this is rocket science, more like good craftsmanship. I would do it if they can show a few nice examples of work they have performed for other customers.

Never heard of this company.
I would need some reviews from active members before sending my bracelet

I certainly wouldn't just send your jubilee "blind" to a repair company without doing some online research and seeing if you can find some customer reports etc.
I'm well aware that you often have to take any online customer reviews with a pinch of salt, but as you're located in Kent you´re not too far from Crawley...maybe worth a trip to the company to see what sort of impression they make on you? Good luck

Michael Young is the guy. Search him on the forum. Many people here have used him with great results in the past.

The watch bracelet repair company

I have a bracelet repair in progress with The Watch Bracelet Repair Company and am expecting it back in the next 2 days. I will report back. This company is run by Joe in Crawley. I cant find any reviews for this company. There is another company in Southend with almost exactly the same URL which has some dodgy reviews. Be careful to choose the correct URL!

Yes. Got my watch back just now--looks fabulous! Great job by Joe at watchbraceletrepair. The above url is correct--don't use couk--he may be dodgy.
I needed it for my son's 30th birthday. Normally takes 4 weeks but Joe did it in 3 weeks. Kept me informed all along. Cost £420. Sent back by Royal Mail special delivery, insured for £2000. I was a bit anxious about sending the money via WorldPay before I had the bracelet back, but it was fine.
Will try to send pics, but they are not formatted correctly for this forum.
Thoroughly recommend!

If the bottom photo is finished product, it doesn’t look good or acceptable. Looks stretched still, but maybe it’s me. Maybe hold the watch by the head and show how straight the band is showcasing the absence of sag.

Sending a bracelet 'halfway around the world' isn't a big deal.
I mean, it's not like you have to take it there yourself.

Actually, I think that looks pretty nice. It's not sorcery just craftsmanship and using the correct tools and replacement parts IMHO. Looks at least as good as i got back from Rolliworks. Check my thread from several months back. Granted, my bracelet was in significantly worse shape as many of the gold center links had wear marks that are still present and I was hesitant to replace at $25 each. Mine is also a USA bracelet which has a different construction than Swiss versions, and I was told was harder to work on as a result. I think based on pricing, most think the USA bracelets are crap compared to the Swiss versions anyway.

BTW @BigBlue1, Happy birthday to your avatar!

I had no idea of the two different bracelets in regards to craftsmanship. I’ll remember that going forward.

Here is the strap being stretched and then being bent. Very little stretch in it and cant bend it much. Compare with the first picture above. I don't think it could have been any tighter?

I would not use Joe. i sent off my Jubilee bracelet for repair and was quoted 6 weeks. 12 weeks later i still hadn't received my bracelet back. Communication was shocking. I demanded he send it back without repair and he soon got his arse in gear. when the bracelet arrived it still had a great deal of stretch with all pins showing between the D links. Avoid
