New IWC 8 year warranty

Interesting times. Perhaps you all may have already read this:

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/iw...eid=88a401c043

IWC is offering an 8 year warranty. What's more interesting is there is an opt in for anyone who thought within the last 2 years.

I didn't see it anywhere, but I bet it is not for free.

It is in fact for free, and I registered my 2018 bought Mk18 without issue.

If you want an IWC product this is a big deal. My next IWC purchase will benefit from this.

Cartier just did the same thing. Seems like Richemont is rolling it out to all their brands.

JLC is doing it too. An 8 year warranty is a big deal.

Richemont is aiming this squarely at Rolex. They feel they must offer something more than Rolex to steal customers away from Rolex, I think.

I had one week left on my Mark XVIII and just extended it until 11-30-2025. This is great news, I’m pretty excited about it.

Funny thing is, I thought I purchased my Mark last year, I can’t believe I have had it almost 2 years. I guess that shows how great of a watch it is, I usually get sick of watches and flip them for something else way before that.

I was a super easy process. You enter your serial number and a picture of your watch shows up and you confirm, boom, extended for 6 more years for me.
