Icon9 Romain Jerome spring bars, anyone removed a strap

Hi,

I have a RJ watch on a leather strap. I want to swap for a rubber one.

But I can not get the spring bars off! They look very weird. They are very thick all the way to the lugs. They have multiple steps/flanges but not of them will budge.

If it wasn't for lock down I would be at a jewelers getting it swapped by someone professional!

I tried taking a picture but macro is not my phones strong point

Thanks
